I am going to Ft Worth next weekend, staying at the old hotel in the Stock Yards...it looks online, like Valet parking is pretty much the way it works, and the ONLY option...I'm not real happy about this, I guess I can do a My Key to limit things, but still, I don't want a banged up car, etc.

Any thoughts on this? I've always avoided valet parking, I try to keep my things nice, and if I screw it up, that's one thing...if some punk screws it up, totally different...wife doesn't understand the big deal, and really, this car is expensive, was sort of an ultimate dream car for 15 years, I finally have one, I don't want some idiot messing it up.

So they turn off the dash cam, or they steal it, or they cover it up...

You'll always be able to visualize a scenario where they'll fuck it up. If it's that big of a concern, stay somewhere without valet parking, and risk the lot? Bring a different car, and not worry? Chance it, and if they damage anything, make a claim.

Too bad you don't have the Sync 3, there is a valet mode on the touch screen.
Limits the car to 30 mph.

Not to get gross but this happened to me twice, had the car in the shop to get suspension parts put on and then to get it aligned, each time there was a lingering smell of body odor that was so bad I couldn't stand it. It was like that Seinfeld episode, lol, I understand guys get dirty and sweaty in the shop but geeze put on some more deodorant or something.

I believe this is on Sync 2/MFT too in settings->vehicle

I dont think it alters the car though, just prevents getting contacts/data/GPs data from the touchscreen system.

I don't think that's true.

You have two choices. Let them valet your car. Or park in another garage yourself, and walk to/from the hotel.

For the former, you might be staying in a place where your car is nowhere near being the fastest/fanciest/most expensive car there. The hotel's reputation is at stake.

For the latter, you risk putting your car in a public garage, that doesn't have valet guys going in and out all the time and acting as sort of a constant security watch over the guests' cars.

You can decide after you get there. But honestly, I would suspect that your car would be treated pretty well. Those guys' jobs depend on that.

I've never had trouble with Valet messing up the car.. (knock on wood)
If the hotel is rated 4 stars or better, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
I always valet when I get the chance. I don't care to make my wife walk...
Best luck to you!

Just let them valet. They have insurance. Do some research on the hotel and specifically the valet staff. When I valet I tip generously when I drop the vehicle with them the first time, so they remember me

I stand corrected, the Valet mode only locks the touchscreen.
Serves me right for listening to the dealer when I picked up the car.

Doesn't the My Key have the option to limit top speed in it's settings?
