If you "act a fool" in an EB and run 93 Octane, then it definitely is a wash.

Coming from an I4 2.0 Turbo Camaro, this was definitely my case. If I drove normally in the Camaro, I can get 5 days (95 mile commute) worth out of my tank. In the Mustang with the V8, it's 4. If I ran the Camaro like crazy, it was also 4 days.
when you factor in the extra cost of gas for the 93 octane then what

While the Mustang has a smaller tank than the Camaro (19 vs 16 gallons, if that really matters), I was filling up my Camaro with 93 Octane Gas, which averaged between 50 to 55 Dollars a week (of course depending on gas prices). I've been filling up my Mustang using those price points as well. So the only real difference is Fuel Economy. I get around 25mpg in the Mustang, and I was getting around 31 in the Camaro. But, if I drove the Camaro like I stole it, the fuel economy would be similar to worse compared to the Mustang.

When I first got the Mustang at the end of March, I did focus a lot on Fuel Economy, but now it's just SPGs. I like to drive with the Paddles, so having control over the gears and RPMs gives a far better sense of gratification compared to the Camaro.

What kind of fuel mileage do the V6's get? I get 34mpg on the freeway with my Ecoboost. We don't have 93 octane here, but 92 is usually only 20 cents a gallon more than regular. Figuring a 16 gallon tank, that's only $3.20 more per tank for 92 over 87 octane.

Where you getting 93 for 20 cents more than 87? Here I'm paying 60-70 cents more per gallon for 93!

I also only get 16-17 mpg but I enjoy driving my car daily, I didn't get it to be fuel efficient and I'm sure it'd be worse in a GT.

Here comes the V6 apartment mafia. I wouldn't park my car there any more. Somebody stole your 5.0 badges.... even a dude named Chad knows V6 Mustangs suck.
I mean, im a boosted v6 and even with the turbo kit im well under the price of the GT that i wanted, and the fact that i can gap every other GT its just funny

Like I said, we don't have 93 octane on the West Coast, the highest we get is 92, and 92 is only 20 cents more than 87 in a lot of places.

If something happened to my 2015 and couldn't get another Mustang V6 I would get a different brand with a V6

Ok I have to ask? What is so special about a V6? I’ve owned NA 4 cylinders, turbo charged 4s, straight 6 & V6s (including a 3.7 cyclone). NA V8, supercharged & nitrous injected V8s. And every engine had its pluses and minuses. Just curious what makes the V6 so desirable in your mind?

The power, economy. ease of working on it (sometimes) the sound with the right mufflers

Joe, how would you feel about either of these current V6 motors?

3.0L EcoBoost® turbocharged V6 engine. This engine produces 365 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Twin turbos will enhance the performance of this engine by improving its specs to 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.

Sold my 2014 V6 manual after 82K miles. Had a mild 87 octane MPT tune and 3.55 gears. That's all. And it was enough to paste a smile across your face all the time. I wont compare it to my GT but it was fast enough to have fun and slow enough not to get into much trouble. Loved that engine - responsive, torquey, fuel efficient and took 87 octane. Sounded great with the right mufflers. One of the better NA V6s at that time. Most folks who drove the V6 and hated it did not realize that the most of these came stock with 2.73 rear end. Complete buzzkill. Change that to 3.55 or higher and you've got a sprinter. The other "issue" was the slow shifting 6 speed auto. Thankfully I did not have to deal with that. Having said that, although the motor was great, the rest of car not so. The brakes were barely adequate, the suspension lethargic. Add to that the noisy transmission / driveline. There was just no feel of quality, especially the in base models. Our 2011 Ford Escape felt better put together than that. When asked, I would justify saying that all you pay for is the engine, the rest of the care comes free with it :). I think the 2015+ models were a much nicer home for that engine.
