I bought my 2023 Mach 1 new and within a few months my battery was already having issues with charging and holding a charge. I went to ford and they analyzed it and said they charged it but they did not find anything else. I have had now the same issue about 4 or 5 times and have told ford everytime, they always check it and say nothing is wrong. My car off is at 11.5 - 12.0. When it is running it goes to 14.5. Ford has said they will not do a warranty battery change even with all these complaints unless the battery is dead. What battery if they were changed are owners of 21-23 Mach 1's using? My oem battery pictured below has a date of November 2022.

if you unhook it I think it s supposed to be 12.4 sitting at least. If it s lower, it s no good. seems guy s either have battery issues or they get years on one. I just replaced by OEM 2020 battery. It was still good but 5 years is enough for me. Bought a NAPA (inexpensive). I always change batteries BEFORE they die anyway. I seems to get 4 plus years on them all.

Yea, I did not expect issues from a brand new car and batery only a few months after I bought it. At least you got 5 years out of it. I will look at NAPA.

You won't get five years from a NAPA battery, good luck with three years. All I use is Motor craft. To the other guy if you are not at 12.5v resting there is something wrong with that battery I would go to a different dealer and get them to replace it. I just bought a new Motor craft battery yesterday and the price has gone up to $169.00 but the core I took in was dated 10/17 and it just now died.

Just did mine a month ago.

Costco is the way to for a regular lead acid. It was surprisingly inexpensive (Interstate brand) at I think $130 or so.

The battery charger system is designed to let the voltage fluctuate in a range. If you’re expecting it to hold XX.X all the time thats not how the charging system is supposed to work on these cars. If its not turning over or whatever sure just get a new battery.

Got seven years out of my first battery (gt350) and bought another FMC when it died…but I keep mine on a tender when it sits at home for more than a day or two 😉

Maybe I missed it in the details, but you don't tell us the symptoms, what's going on, is the battery completely dead and the car won't even turn over? If yes, why not call ford then and have them come pick it up?

My car is still on its original battery and it’s an 18. I’m expecting to replace it this year before the winter hits, but I’m surprised it’s lasted this long.

Yea, my Corvette battery lasted 10 years and my Mach 1 battery started having issues a couple of months after I bought the car.

My 2021 GT is on its second battery. Last time replaced 10/24. Im starting to have problems again. Im constantly getting system off to save battery. I have tried charging the battery multiple times. I reset the BMS with forscan. I guess its time to upgrade myself.

2022 Mustang GT and 2022 Mach 1 OEM batteries only lasted 2.5 years. I replaced them with Interstate batteries from Costco and all is good again. It wasn't worth getting the dealer involved to fight for a warranty claim but I was surprised both batteries tested "bad" after such a short time.

I had a very comparable problem…. Oe battery died …. Went to auto zone and they sold me a battery called an EFB… this thing would die within 20
Hours of not on a charger, my active exhaust stopped working…. Car was always lose my presets and it was driving me nuts. I had three EFB battery replacements for free within a year. Last time the battery crapped, I had them give me a lead acid battery and it solved every issue I had …. Hope this helps !
