Hey,

I want to do some upgrades to my car this year. Im starting on all four corners. Im running stock wheels that
are 19' and with non brembo brakes and discs on my EB.

I want to make it lower and wider. So I am thinking to replace the shocks and lower it. Then widen the stance
with spacers or deeper wheels. I want to put on 20's. Can I get the wide look without spacers?

Any recoomndations on wheels. I want to get something like the GT ones. But I like classic 5-6 spoke and they
must be in black.

Thanks,

I imported Project 6GR seven spoke, 19" wheels for my GT.
They were a reasonable price, much lighter and wider than the OE wheels.
I run 295 40s at the rear now, although I have had 305 35s before, and 285 40 on the front.
I think the widths are 11" and 10" respectively.
Running 40s means the gap between the top of the tyre and the arch is small enough, so I haven't bothered lowering the car.

Having wider front tyres seems to result in the car eating the fronts, on the inner edge, way sooner than the rears, so if you're going to get wider fronts, you might want to consider that.

My wheels are flush to the arches, no spacing req'd.

However, the holes for the wheel nuts are very small and using a socket has chipped the paint away from the edges of the holes.

P6GR included new nuts with the wheels as the OE nuts won't fit, which is PITA as I have a spare wheel, so I carry 5 OE nuts and socket too, in case I have to use the spare...

If I were to buy another set of wheels, they would be similar to the P6GRs but be able to use the OE nuts and maybe slightly narrower fronts so I could fit a 265/275 tyre.

yeah I am really in two minds about whether to go to 20's or stick with 19" wheels. Mine feel small in the arch. So I suppose I was thinking 20's with the staggered width and wider at the back will fill the arches and remove the need for spacers.

I am about to replace all my tyres so its the time to do it. I am confused about what I want. I have split 5 spokes that are OEM wheels. But I like the GTR style wheels. Your wheels in Gloss black would stuit it very well.

Would you mind showing me a few pics of your baby so I can see how they fit the arches?

Does anyone have advice on the brakes? at the moment mine are stock Ford. Not brembo. So they are a horrible metal silver. And the discs could do with looking better. They stop very well but visually they are letting down the wheels.

So I want to upgrade them or get a replacement type that has a colored calipers and some new discs.

Paint the stock calipers or upgrade to the GT brakes.

I snapped a few casual pics this morning, while I was out, then when it was parked on the drive.

Front, R19 x 10, 285 x 40, ~1.5cm from arch to tread, @12 O'clock.

Rear R19 x 11, 295 x 40, less than 2cm arch to tread, @12 O'clock.

My speedo over reads a GPS I have, by 1 to 2 mph.
When the speedo indicates 70, GPS indicates 68.x

If you are happy with the performance and mechanical looks / design, get them painted.

As you are now UK based, I can recommend this company :

https://www.bcs-automotive.co.uk/?g...ZBqtKoU0bGPkeG9I1aZLG4m_IUENXnABoCfWgQAvD_BwE

The website is a bit clunky and they are not the cheapest, but the work they do is very good (backed by a lifetime guarantee for both appearance and function, including shipping costs on warranty work). Check out some of the examples of who they do custom painting for.

I had my daily done, and my Mustang callipers will be going there when the time comes.

My daily :

1773678036510-nc.webp

Not the poshest of callipers, but look what they started with ...

1773678057725-bx.webp

1773678076019-js.webp

I got junkyard callipers refurbished so my car wasn't off the road whilst they did them (even though their service is pretty quick).

Other than being a customer, I have no connection with this company.

yeah I looked into that and taking them off my car to send was the issue. I was trying to find a drive in drive out solution. I thuoght about buying second had calipers to get painted, how much did they end up setting you back?

Also what did you do to replace the discs? ford OEM or another? only mine are rusting up and need replacing just for the sheer looks of them.

I am happy with the stopping power. But bot the calipers and discs are rusting and it looks awful. So I am weight up the cost options before I pull the trigger.

Those brakes are from my daily (Sportage) so not really applicable - but those four scrap callipers came to a grand total of ÂŁ57.79 (including postage).

I can’t see you getting a spare set of Mustang brakes for that !

The disks aren’t OEM, they were aftermarket (MTEC) :like:

yeah I am looking on ebay and its like ÂŁ300 for the front pair and about ÂŁ150 for the rear pair. So ÂŁ450 just to not take mine off. I cant put my car on stilts. I have no garage and my drive is at a severe angle.

I am suprised no refurb place does a drive in and out service.
