Hi

I'm still looking to join the Mustang herd but one thing I've not been able to find is a definitive servicing schedule.

Can someone help and confirm how the servicing schedule works (ie is it a big service followed by a smaller service) and what the general cost for services are (dealer & specialist)?

Cheers

same as usual on most cars yearly / 12k (i think i haven't done 12k in 3 years so i do yearly) major/minor routine as usual most dealers will try and rob you just buy a service kit oil/filters yourself and do it takes an hour, check your pads/disks and be done with it. failing that any garage can do it doesn't have to be a dealer or a specialists its not more complicated than a mondeo

10k/year is the interval. If you're buying new and you want main dealer stamps then look for Ford's service plan. Works out cheaper over 3 years. Just make sure its the Ford one and not the dealers own. Should be sub-£700.
If you do your own servicing and you still have warranty left, well...you don't

As my car now approaches one year old, Ford have been in contact to book my car in for it's first service.
So I'd suggest the initial service at least, is at one year. Not sure what the mileage limit is as I've done about 8K since last March.

1 year / 10,000 mile intervals for the Mustang

Services go minor / major / minor with brake fluid every 2 years

Most dealers will not try to 'rob' you but will try to run a business with significant overhead costs to cover compared to smaller independents. Being a franchised dealer carries very significant costs. OK some can be more expensive than others, but there are plenty of good Ford dealers out there if you need a recommendation depending on where you are in the UK.

In general servicing costs are considerably below many other prestige brands.

If you register on ETIS you can print out the service checklists for your vehicle

SIgned up for the ford service plan a couple of weeks ago. Online quote doesn't work, but over the phone it was £550 for 3 years (would have been £410 for 2 years...) for my GT.

Great deal. It was £590 when i took it in 2016 and it went up to £690 after that.
