If it's anything like this with the local mustang clubs, I will gladly pass!
I have been in two mustang only clubs and the bigger they became, the worse they were and the more drama that happened. Before I got rid of my cobra I hung out with some guys that drove imports, camaros, corvettes, mopars, etc. and everyone seemed to get along better because of the diversity. Just MHO. Of course that might not be the case with all of the clubs just the ones I was in.

I recommend expecting a longer wait for a new car. Many many people trying to be first. Patience is a virtue (and I usually don't have much!!)
I totally agree and I'm the same way lol. I rather wait so I don't have to be constantly going to the dealership constantly because of bugs that Ford didn't workout before release. :headbonk:

I ordered my LE in April and was one of the first ordered and processed. I know in Canada I was the first but I am sure in the US many more were ahead of me.
All this to say I read and was told production would start around mid to late August and it did. I was told Cars would probably start arriving in dealers towards the end of September into the beginning of October and that looks reasonable. I was told I would receive my LE probably in November earliest, probably December or even beginning of January. So from my point of view nothing has changed at all and Ford is right on their target dates.
Another thing, I actually want them to tweak any problems on initial production before they get to my LE. Furthermore, I want to read the initial reviews that will start coming in over the next month. I expect them to be good but if they are mediocre or Bad then I will cancel my order. The LE is not WOW, its more, I wanted a Kona Blue GT manual with PP so the LE fit my requirements and I like the trims added on the Windows and seats so I thought, sure why not, but its not a huge deal for me.
So from my point of view, Ford is on target and I am happy to wait because its all to my benefit , so no brainer for me anyway.

Hi there.
First I have to say, I was never ever in a Club as an adult. I had never time for this. Second. After seeing now a couple members here already arguing about delivery times, I can only say that maybe this people shouldn't order a car at all. If you guys thought you buy a car what is already a year in production and the dealer could tell you exactly when you can pickup the car, you made the biggest mistake ordering an S550 now. Next year, when dealers know exactly what the waiting time is for retail orders, than you guys can complain about delivery times. I ordered beginning second week of August and my dealer said already to me to expect the car late this year. October - December that's when the dealers getting 2015 Mustangs in. Not earlier. And I am talking LATE October. Everything else would be a big surprise who drives long enough cars. There is to much involved to getting the first batch right.

If now some people here think that they getting "punched" around here in the forum, for posting to cancel orders and buying cars, they are already 12 month on the dealers lot - what did you think? That's what some here including me like to know. IMO these must be young people who signed before thinking.

And than members asking why down-payments are non-refundable. If I am reading all this, I now can understand why dealers do it.

Ohh and sorry! I know.. :dnftt:

I ordered mine Sept 1st. The dealer told me Job 1 cars go to a warehouse and are held until a sampling of Job 1 cars are tested.
They actually are held in a lot outside. There isn't a warehouse large enough to hold the thousands of cars that are probably batched up by now.

Any bugs found will cause the factory to re-tool, then Job 1 cars are fixed, THEN cars are shipped. I'm glad I'm in Job 2. :)
If there was a problem with the tooling at this time, they would be in big trouble. There are quality checks along the entire process, including checks at the end. They will change build procedures, or if there is a parts issue, replace parts and correct them before they leave the plant. This is no different than how it runs during the regular production. Cars can be fixed at any time, not just the first run. Obviously, there is extra caution and checking going on at this time, and there could be some running changes that may or may not be visible to us as consumers.

As I think we've seen over the past few months, there have been multiple batches of cars built off and on the line, so that what we are getting now should be fairly thorough. We wouldn't be seeing the progress we're seeing now if there were major errors in assembly procedures, parts quality, or fit and finish.

Let's hope for the best, whether Job 1 or beyond.

The only benefit to a later build is as Tony says, the cars are sitting in a lot outside and lets say, the seats came with the wrong thread and was noticed in final inspection. The batch will sit outside until the replacements arrive, just like if the cars show up at the dealer lots and something is discovered requiring replacement. They will sit, but don't think it happens just at the beginning; in production a bad stamping press might be discovered halfway through its life or a crack forms causing week spots on panels and they have to be replaced(very rare). Just know things can happen at any given point and the car might sit in purgatory for a long time. It has happened where some just fall into the lost sock hole, only to be found later by someone not looking for it. When the lots are full, cars are also parked at other sites...out of site out of mind kinda thing. The bottom line is to quit guessing when your car should arrive and just patiently track it until arrival and then enjoy.

We live in this new twittersensationlized type of world where everyone thinks they have an opinion that matters (though does it include me while I type this?).

Forget the car, I would like to know why people are not living fully lives to be busy and not have time to worry about this car being on order. I ordered June third and time has past by so fast..best thing to do is keep busy, check the updates now and then and wait patiently. I am eager to beat the snow, don't want my car driving on the truck with salt and sand blasting around..mainly because I don't want it to ever touch the winter roads here. But I won't make a post about it and yell at Ford. I don't see what they have done wrong here.

Sit back, enjoy life, and the car will come before you know it. The Mustang has such a large community base, why wreck it over guesses and frustration for something that can't be controlled.

Amen danielc. I've gotten so much done on both my Shelby cobra replica and my 91 5.0 coupe while waiting on this one. I spend time with my baby girl (best time spent at all!) and the time since December 6th of last year (my first discussion with the dealership about the new mustang) had flown by.

Do I still hope mine shows up middle of October? Of course. Will I cancel if it don't? Nope. I'll wait patiently until it arrives.

The Audi tt of ntx I was in was pretty decent but I got too busy with military and regular work so I parted... it was fun but I just get the feeling of someone always has to one up on their cars and get the bragging rights (so they think) I just need a mix of both young and some older

This was my first time ordering a car so I didn't know what to expect. I was hoping I could get additional info along the way but that didn't happen. What else should I have expecting paying 43 grand on car when they haven't released info like HP or gas mileage. Let's also not get Into the features we were clueless about and all the investigating all the NICE people on this forum did to get us answers (not Ford). I'll know better next time. I guarantee there will be other cars hitting the lot specd out like mine. With that being said I live in Texas and will have at least 5k exciting miles on my car by the time most of you guys on here get to play with your new toy after winter. So it could be worse I suppose. Cheers
