On the upside when I ordered the car (7/31) the dealer told me I could get my order refunded anytime I wanted. He seemed not to think they would have a problem selling mine to someone else haha

fwiw my priority code is 10, but reading other posts here it seems that may not indicate being built sooner? just a waiting game now :(

Unfortunately, I never received the DORA sheet... my dealer provided the order number and dealer code, so I've been obsessively checking COTUS every day for months. VIN number finally showed up this morning.

Im in that boat now until I get mine. Unfortunately Ill have to pull out if I dont hear something by the end of this month, but thats a personal situation...I need wheels! Fingers crossed though

I just received this information from my dealer... BTW my order is retail and priority 19.

Just wanted to touch base with you about your priority code. The information you researched is absolutely dead on, and that is how the system works. The reason your vehicle is #19, is that was the order it which we took your order in. It has nothing to do with you giving us a deposit or not. There were just other orders in front of yours that filled up the previous priority numbers. Ford has not pulled any new orders for the last 5 weeks, and should start to pull vehicle orders out of the order bank next week, and I am about 90% sure yours will be pulled then. They pull 3-4 at a time, and yours is next on the list. I know you are excited and we are too. It is going to be a great car and hopefully worth the wait.

I emailed my dealer "Being it allocation day and many people I have spoke with today were assigned vins that shown up COTUS today. Ford gave me an update and still stated that my car was entered in as a retail order and will not even be assigned a VIN until after the OKtoBuy date has been confirmed, which may take another two weeks.

Was my order entered in as stock or retail? Do you have an inventory car already scheduled that has the same options as I put on my car?
I spoke with another friend of mine that placed his Ruby Red order with you and he said that he has a build date but was not provided a VIN."

So just got a call from my dealer. He stated, and I quote, "There are no special order mustangs as of now (?). I changed a stock order that I had to match what you are looking for. When it gets scheduled to build and Assign a vin you will be the first to know. If I had not did that, you would not get your car until November. If all dealers did that then there would be cars on the lot to sale."

I'm not really sure he answered my question? The information on my DORA states that priority 10. So he has another in his stock fleet with my specifications? If so, why hasn't it been scheduled yet? Why haven't I been given the order number on that one? He states that his stock orders should be here in October. Then maybe mine will be on the lot? Hell, who knows at this point. I just wish I had a definite yes/no answer for stuff.

Heres my question. Why does he need cars on the lot to sell IF YOU ALREADY BOUGHT IT? What a joke. They just want cars on the lot to sell so that they can charge stupid people over MSRP and rape them.

Looks like he's saying he changed one of his stock allocations to match yours. If so, you just lucked out..
Ask him for the order # of the one he changed and you could track it on COTUS.
