Up until 50 mph or higher depending on your power level, straight line racing is all about grip and whether you can hook up. EVs are the kings of adjusting perfectly to the available traction.

All dynos are different but I would guess you need about 850-900hp to go as fast as a Plaid. They trap over 150mph.

I really avoided this thread for awhile because I didn’t want to stir the pot.

However, it must be said…

Any street racer knows whether it’s a roll and most definitely if it’s a dig, you ain’t beating a Plaid with 6 psi. Robvas is speaking the truth.

If you did, there was a brick under his pedal or the driver chose to not change his modes for maximum power. I have 2 Plaids who are my personal friends that go out with me as well as a Demon 170 nearly every weekend.

Ya better bring a lunch and 17psi+ on a Gen 3 Coyote with a 10-sp to beat a Plaid on a 40 roll.

If it was not for the policy here, I would show you better than I can tell you.

Moral of the story is don’t bet money on a street race against a Plaid with 6 psi, just go to the casino for the night and take your chances there…

Lol plaids are not THAT fast. Yes they're fast AF from a dig, but it's still a 9 second car. saying you can't keep up without 17 psi in a roll is just ignorant. and no one said anyone beat a plaid at 6 psi.

You are fight a losing battle. He's probably stoned and doesn't know what it takes to beat a 150mph trapping, awd, electric car from a roll on the street. Is he speaking from experience? Possibly. Did he watch a youtube video and stay at a holiday Inn express last night? Likely.

I got a whole boosted Mustang. I’m not a Mustang hater and I despise a Plaid!

However, a person assuming full weight Gen 3 Coyote on 6 psi and a stick can keep up with a Plaid around here is silly but could have happened with some explaining todo.

Now, if you ask a guy how much he got beat by… He says, “A fender or a half car” but over half the time around here, when the video comes out, it was a Amtrak Train! .

*I know 6g is not about street racing.
Therefore, it’s relative with video proof like dis…

Before you ask, the ZL1 Camaro was rumored to be 850rwhp, but the setup was capable of 900rwhp. Sometime people under rate for a advantage or had a low reading dyno of which you can’t compare anyways.

The Mach 1 was a TVS2650 making low 800rwhp. I know these people like I said.
