Undercoating/protection

Back in the late late 90s and early 2000s I was a tech apprentice at a Ford dealership and I remember undercoating was all the rage, especially with the “NW package”. I specifically remember undercoating a Terminator Cobra thinking wow this’ll last a lifetime! Now we know undercoating isn’t all that great in some circumstances. Do any of you put any rust preventatives underneath. On my 19 Tacoma I put fluid film underneath, but Tacoma’s are known to have rust problems with their frames. Just in the research phase right now, don’t own one yet, but when I research, I go deep!

Thanks. Stupid me didn’t put undercoating in the search but did put it in the title and thread.

I live in Wa, we don’t salt roads here but I live a mile away from the Puget Sound. Plus it rains. A lot.

Fluid film or other oil coatings are the only thing I'd use, because they displace moisture instead of trapping it. They have to be reapplied after a certain amount of time, but they work perfectly.
