Please, no "101 uses for a dead cat" jokes. And especially no anti-freeze suggestions!!

Try $115 from Steeda during BF sale. ;)
Yeah, 7# each.
Wow nice!!

Found a vid specifically for the 2015 Mustang installing the Blackvue...

Doesn't show how to peel away the roof liner, pillars and rear area though...

There isn't really much outside of dash cams, locking lugs, etc. you can do. Avoiding bad areas is the best protection. I personally park far away when I go shopping, some people feel that makes them a target.

I also see you live in PA: don't drive in Philly :D
want about one of these on the dash by the window, a pet tarantula, cheap no hassles with dash cams and all you have to feed it is a few mice,
sorted :)
or what about a pet rattlesnake the good thing there is not only can be seem but also be heard, and eats the same mice

Yeah tell me about it...before reading your post I never heard of "jacking rails". Seems WELL worth the $200 or so (from a quick ebay search).

I have been educating myself on dashcams so I'll definitely go front and back but I'm not sure if I'll go 2 channel or just 2 independent units. Blackvue will probably end up getting my money (DR3500 or DR650GW).

Thanks!

in all seriousness, don't live in the hood and have a garage. you can't avoid everything. you have insurance for a reason

Hahaha that is good.

Mine stays in the garage at the house. I also have two Police cars here as well so..

If you make it obvious that you are trying to avoid parking lot drama, that is when it finds you.

Jacking rails were my first mod too. I love them. I will use them this weekend to put my summer wheels back on.

I take precautions with my car. Same ones when I'm in my wife's car, children's... Just normal common sense when parking. I stay out of high theft areas. I'm in eastern PA as well. The only time my car went to Philly was for an Eagles game. I had J lot parking pass. Nice space and about 50 feet from stadium entrance. It's garaged at. Night. Before jumping into the higher end cars, we made sure we would have indoor parking. For the Harley's....

I did have a 1989 Mustang LX5.0. We lived in an apartment then. I,learned my lesson about have a car I cared about and having a safe space to park. No valndwlism, just at door dings.. On a black 5.0.

I'd say, do your best, think about it and be aware, but don't get overly concerned. Enjoy it. Like others said. You have insurance.

My 1966 Mustang, that's a real queen. Only out on nice days. Never goes shopping. Although I will take it to the barber shop on Saturdays. That car never leaves my sight. The exception is at car shows hen I'm surrounded by my fellow Mustang club members. Even with a cutoff switch, I'm sure a med-level car theif could jack it in minutes.

Generally speaking, I don't worry too much about damage or theft. As someone already mentioned, that's what insurance is for, right? My wife and I have a 3-car garage (wanted additional workshop/storage space), so both our vehicles are inside if we're home. I park pretty far away from my building in the morning at work each day, but by lunchtime, there's always other cars near me, so I'm not worried about the car being "alone." At the grocery or any other store, I also park far away from the door, and will avoid the cart return areas like the plague. A 7-year-old pushing a cart to the collection area is cute to their parents, but terrifies me if my car is anywhere in the vicinity. :)

An excellent tip I got on this forum is use the 3 setting to dip the mirrors so you can see the curb when reversing. Unfortunately before I learnt that I have 3 nicks on my black wheels and there is no touch up paint for them
I cover the car even in my own garage. Especially in my own garage. I park away from others and some parking lots, like the beach I will not enter at all.
Absolutely no food no sodas no cigarettes
From now on I will clean the car. Even the touchless places, how do I know when they dry the car that they don't have rings on their fingers

At work - I look for and end parking spot on the RIGHT side of the row of parking spots. This allows me to protect both the passenger side AND the driver side. Almost everyone drives to work without passengers, so even if someone parks on my driver side, I KNOW for a fact that no one will be opening their passenger door into my driver door.

When going to a store, I do the same as above, but a I park few rows out further from everyone else - because lots of people are too damn lazy to walk distance to go into a store... So they're not parking out by me, unless they have a nice car too... lmao!

I also do not park near or under ANY trees found in or around parking lots - f'n birds are always in them and they just shit on anything...

At home it's always in the garage sitting next to my Cobra.

All good but what if at work the person parking next to you REVERSES into the bay, his/her door will open on your side. At my work I know where the few wider spaces are

There is nothing you can do if someone is bound and determined to mess with your car. Also to keep the cat off of your car park further than the other cars. My wife's car is closer so the cat jumps on it now.
