Well, after 9 1/2 months I picked up my 17 Ruby Red Fastback GT from Hendy Ford in Eastliegh and I thought it worth a quick review of what I have found.

Day 1: Hendy Ford were great on pick up day, the car was well prepared and looked stunning, it did help it was sunny!! Front parking sensors were fitted and worked very well. Drove home with a massive smile on my face.... I ran it in gently for 5 miles then gave it some beans..... she certainly shifts!! Not light car small powerful engine quick, but more GT powerful quick. Exhaust nice when reved but a bit quiet for me, not really American V8...

Day 2: Drizzle, off to Modurstang for some work (125 miles each way), wet mode, no issues drove well albeit a little floaty at the back, but I was very happy because that's why I was going up to Modurstang!!
Mods going on:
1. Roush Axle Backs
2. Steeda Sport Progressive Springs
3. BMR CB005

After a quick chat with Mike.....
4. Wheel Spacers (25mm Front, 21mm Rear)
5. Black wheel nuts (smaller than original to avoid wheel damage - they look great!)

Drove home in the dry, stance looks fantastic, much more aggressive and 'muscle car', sound........ amazing!!! I love the sound. Modurstang team were brilliant, highly recommended they really know their stuff and having seen the headers I am saving for my next visit......

Rest of the week smaller runs but every one with a smile on my face!!

So what? Well there are a couple of niggles, LH wing mirror keeps going beyond its 'stop' so needs pressing back in to get the electrics to move it (Ford will sort that when I get time to book it in, no rush). Also I find the drivers seat a little difficult to get perfect, even with the lumbar support in I find an awkward lump in my lower back, although not important I am sure it will settle down the more I sit in it (anyone else find this with the seats?). Obviously I wish the handbrake was on the other side and the cup holders were not under my arm but I can easily live with that. Speedo MFD is OK, I would have liked a large digital speed option but again no big concern.

On the up side: I love the sound of the Roush Axle backs, not too loud to upset the neighbours, but definitely loud enough to let the world know you are there ;). Stance with new springs and spacers - perfect, springs give no perceptive change to comfort but definitely tighten up in harder turns. Power, its surprising, although it does not feel like 410bhp it definitely shifts, its more gentle power than aggressive power, you definitely smile when you hit the loud pedal!! There is a slight flat spot in 6th at around 70 though.

I am glad Mike suggested the spacers and black wheel nuts, simple but very effective mods. I definitely smile every time I drive the car, it looks great and has lived up to my 9 1/2 months of growing expectation.

A big thank you to all on here who have educated me during the wait, this forum has without a doubt made the wait less painful, special thanks to Manders for the detailed order process:cheers:, I would have been lost without it (Dealer knew nothing on process and never updated me), and Gibbo for some great handling knowledge. All in if anyone is reading this and not sure on whether to bite the bullet and get one......... You will love it, whatever the colour, style or engine the Mustang is fantatsic, its rare to get so much bang for your bucks, let alone smiles for your pounds!! :ford:

Nice review. I didn't find it felt quick on the test drives until I put it into Race/Sport + mode - not sure if that makes a difference with you? Decided that always going to drive in at least Sports + mode unless conditions are such but then will leave the car at home :)

I felt the same way about the power.... gentle vs. aggressive.

I did a tune and CAI and it pushed it way more towards aggressive. Lund did mine, not sure if that helps you across the pond or not.

Congrats on the car!

Good review, glad you are liking the car. I felt the same way re the power, it needed to be more aggressive so had a new CAI and Lund tune. Much improved but let's put it this way I have not put in race mode since I had the tune, given sport + is hysterical. But soon, the dry roads and I will find an open space and rag it in race mode to see what happens. Keep on enjoying the car, the smile doesn't fade !

Nice review; I may do the same for 6 months after this weekend when I've finally driven it (it only has 180 miles on it so far).

I don't find the seats to have that mid-back lump but that's usually something you can dial out. I've certainly been able to in previous cars.

As for the power; you're right. It's slightly disconcerting as it certainly does go well, but the linear power delivery makes it feel, perhaps not "slow" but certainly not fast. My Monaro is no different - though it has a little more power.
