"I want to like it (and I loved the rental we had in Hawaii, even though it was the lowly 4-pot) but they had to make a raft of cosmetic changes for the UK market due to regulations and that's taken the shine off them for me."

To summarise...
"lowly" 4 banger with proper DRLs =
Euro spec GT with V8 =

Nah, sorry mate, want to like it but without hood vents...

Probably best these guys don't buy one.

I read the forum thread, really wish I hadn't.

There's even people comparing the MPG compared to a BMW 340i as a way to one-up the Mustang:

One person (rightly so) stated that a better comparison with the M4 would be the GT350 on performance and price. Then someone else states that you should just compare the standard GT with the M4 because cost doesn't matter.:confused::crazy:

Piston Heads really is full of wankers. I'd be surprised if most of them have even sat inside a rear wheel drive car...

You'd think a Pistonbroke review/forum would just say:-

Got a V8; goes like f**k; costs f**k all; what's not to like?

But no...................

The difference between Pistonheads and forums like this one is that on here people tend to speak from knowledge and/or experience rather than just out of their *rses. Opinions are often expressed but not passed off as fact as they are elsewhere.
I have a bit of an issue with the whole "petrol head" mentality. FFS, define yourself by something more meaningful...
Anyway, that's just one of them opinions ;)

Two reasons:

1)
Its because Penisheads is where the Halfords-special boys go (or should that be Halfords special-boys?)

What I've learned about this side of car culture is that you don't need a good car. What you need is anything with a BMW, Audi, VW or Vauxhall badge, a fart cannon, enough cheap parts on eBay to lower too it within an inch of its life and enough disposable income to buy the tackiest set of Wolfrace wheels imaginable.

The Mustang is not a cheap car to modify (by comparison), isn't one of the aforementioned brands, and because Jeremy Clarkson proclaimed that American cars were shit, they too throw the Mustang aside as a shit car.

2)
BMW drivers hate the fact that a car much cheaper than theirs gets more kerb-side appeal with similar if not better performance for WAY less cash.

Got a lot of money to spend? Don't mind paying over the odds? Like Germany? Then you'll love our new German car of super awesomeness that will make u the dogs bollocks at the pub - only ÂŁ150k... a small price to pay, but who want's a used McLaren anyway !

Pretty sure that's how their reviews are.

This is so true @benanderson89 I had a 14 plate Bmw M6 parked next to me, that standard BMW silver looking colour, everyone would walk past looking at my Mustang... Sorry fat bald guy in the M6!
