I have heard several ways that will turn off all the nannies one is there's a particular fuse that will turn them off and two there is a plug connector on the inner Fender that will also turn them all off does anyone know anything about either of these. Which way is better I also heard that unplugging the plug connector will set off codes.

I'm interested too.

Just want ABS, nothing else.

When on the dyno, I unplug the connector by the airbox. Yes, it does turn the lights on the dash, and (I think) give you an ABS code, but those all go away once the connector is plugged back in. I've never pulled the fuse, so can't help on that. When driving the car, I just put it in track mode and then turn the advance trac off, and that is usually enough fun for me.

i know the fuse worked on my 16, and we pulled the plug by the intake on my 18. only heard negative things about doing it for anything other than a dyno

The manual tells you how, but I've not tried it.

18 up a10. About the plug by airbox. It seems if your a 301a or premium GT with the toggle drag mode you do not want to unplug it. It kills the drag mode option. Verified car is slower. Mine is a 300a non toggle car and zero problems unplugging. In fact, it made tuning easier pulled. S is my drag mode in auto.

F62 also disables the anti lock brakes. This will likely also disable any onboard line lock functions in track mode.

So keep in mind your anti-lock braking is not active in this state. Anti lock braking for those who may have a misconception on the function of the system is to allow you to still be able to steer away from the collision at full braking in a stop short scenario. Stopping faster is not the design concept. At full lock up with no wheel rotation there is no ability to steer. The pulsing effect allowing wheel rotation during braking so that you may be able to steer clear of the hazard.

What sort of negative things?

I'm not considering warning lamps being lit to be a negative in and of themselves here, provided that they go out when the fuse is replaced.

Agreed, though under extreme braking from higher speeds ABS will at least keep you from flat-spotting an expensive tire or two. Though this would cost you a little in the resulting longer stopping distance. This would be much more likely to happen during a track-day session.

A '16 premium should have the toggle switches, no? Just hold down the traction control switch on the left for ~7 seconds and you should get an 'advancetrak disabled' message. This is the easiest way to disable all the nannies without messing things up. ABS still works, but T/C and AdvanceTrak will be 100% disabled this way. That should be in your manual.

Once and a while, the system will get confused and re-boot and re-enable after you've diasbled it this way. You'll get a dash error if that happens (its uncommon), its annoying if it happens at the track, but you can easily just disable it again once its reboots.

The connector near the airbox seems to get the same result as holding down the traction control switch. I use that occasionally if the above is giving me fits and reenabling itself (again, its rare). Yeah sometimes you'll get a warning light or dash code if you use the connector this way, but it always clears itself if you reconnect the connector and restart the car. No worries. I never mess with the fuses, but I disable T/C a lot for autox and track lapping sessions.

Thanks for all the info. I was also under the impression that even though you use the toggle to turn of traction control and advancetrac it does not turn them off 100%. is that not true?
