I love when software is so high quality they even leave the default App icon on it.
I doubt I'd ever pay it enough attention to even suspect it might not be their own.

JAJ - Thanks for the link, and I've saved it for later reading. I am quite interested in seeing what's in there. If it reads more like the Calmap software for aftermarket EFI than the qualification documentation for software used in the nuclear power business I won't be a bit surprised.

Here's a screen shot of the velocity tuning screen. You can see the row of tabs across the top.

DSC Vel Scrn Shot Small.webp

Here's a link to the setup manual: http://www.dscsport.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/DSC-Sport_Software-User-Manual.pdf

You can see all the settings and calibration parameters.
I went over the user manual and looking at the screenshots, its clear that someone fairly technical with an engineering background coded this and they have had close to zero, if ever, UI/UX applied to this app.

That being said, I dont think 99% of the user base would mind.

How do you know how to tune it. I feel like id be taking a stab in the dark.
First, you don't have to be able to tune it in order to use it. I bought mine from Cortex, and it came with their tune on it. You can download the baseline DSC tune from the DSC website, so you have two to try and decide which one you like better. The thing is, for the Track settings in particular, you're getting setup code that was developed on a race track by professional drivers. You can change it, but it's going to be tough to make it better.

That said, if you have a particular handling problem, you can go back to Cortex or to DSC Sport directly with questions. They will help you.

In my case, I'm not afraid to make changes and get a sense of what does what in the tune, then move things where I want them. I'm currently running my own Comfort settings for instance. I knew what I wanted, and after a bunch of trial and error, I've got it. I might fiddle with the track settings next year, but I ran this year with the the DSC baseline settings, and they're pretty darned good just the way they come.

There's a very short internal supply chain between the folks who develop the product and the folks that test it, deliver it and support it. It's refreshing, really.

When you buy from either Cortex or DSC, how many of their settings does it come programmed with?

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question. The unit arrives fully programmed and ready to run. There is only one software set on the unit, but it has specific programming for each of the car's Comfort, Sport and Track modes. Plug it in, do a brief setup on a laptop plugged into the unit to zero out the suspension ride height position sensors and you're done. Your car has new shock calibrations for all the driving modes that your steering wheel switches can access.

Really curious as to what lap time effect is with this controller and if there is a substantial change in ride quality in comfort mode (being more compliant). If less than 1 sec impact on a 2.5 mile course probably not worth it unless professionally racing. What are the Porsche/Vette/Ferrari guys seeing?

Also, someone mentioned it improves the Magneride response time, but I thought the 6-8 ms response time was limited by the valve in the shock..not sure how software would decrease the response time

That answers the question....thanks. What are your impressions in each mode? Can you feel the difference?

So, this works with our existing suspension setups in the R?

Underneath on that site it references their own Coilover system.

Yes, it's plug and play for the GT350R mag ride shocks. According to 50Deep, FP's "only" suggestion for upgrading the R is the DSC unit.

When new electronically controllable dampers come out, as they undoubtedly will, the module will run them as well. It'll take a new calibration file download, but that's ninety seconds with a laptop.
