I see guys upgrading sway bars, beside from less body roll what is the advantage?

Also I remember reading about a Mclaren with magnetic shocks and it had no sway bar? Could the shocks be tuned to eliminate the need for a sway bar?

The set up on the 12C is what allows for the lack of bar. It uses a system of hydraulic cylinders, pistons, roll and fluid accumulators, much like is used in aviation, in place of a traditional shock absorbers and roll bars. The fluid is controlled by hydraulic cylinders which handle damping and roll accumulators adjust pressure to control roll.
