Hmm ... Any down side? The better ride in normal would be enough as long as I didnt loose anything on the track
No you're not going to loose anything on the track. They simply fine the the calibration of milliamps through a 0-100% range of shock rebound and compression based on velocity and G's.

So feel is one thing but what about a quantifiable result? Any lap time comparisons? corner entry/exit speeds improved?

if this can be set up for different springs, sway bars, etc it is a no brainer for me..i would think that lowering the car would throw the factory tuning all out of whack and hurt performance

this is very popular on GM cars especially the C7 Z06 as lots of racer friends hate the Mag setup on long tracks. I think its neat but this is coming from Ridetech where as Ford SVT spent millions of dollars tuning and developing the OEM stuff i doubt Ridetech has the money and resources to outdo Ford here. If the module was $500 all of us would try it just for the sake of it but $1300 is in another category of who wants to be the test mule here.

From my experience on my V2 CTSV it destroys the Mag ride and its programming, However few friends had lowered Ferrari 458, Californias and F430 which all use Mag ride and they worked flawless BUT Ferrari also spent millions perfecting where GM left off. I guess someone needs to try the Ford Performance lowering springs for some feedback to share.

Move to new york city you will have a change of heart:)
Im right there with you, as i spent hundreds of hours trying to find the sweet spot on my GT PP that i sold, so far the 350 is much better and more comfortable around here.

The programming is not coming from Ridetech although as I understand it they participated in the testing and clearly have branded it to sell. I am sure there is more to it but I am not privy. However, DSC also sells it which are the engineers that developed Magneride since inception.

The history: DSC emerged a couple years after Delphi while emerging from chap 11 sold the suspension group along with the magneride technology to BeijingWest Industries Co. in 2009.

Ford SVT of course had the lead in tuning for the GT350 but DSC had a hand in it too with their technology. DSC has now just opened the envelope and tuning capability of the dampeners with their product also branded under Ridetech. Any OEM will keep their shock tuning parameters narrow for a production vehicle. In other words the majority of the GT350 owners will not aggressively track their car or push the envelope of its capability. For those that do the DSC tunability just gives you more and frankly also for those that don't push as hard. The ride is improved as well. How can it do it all? The V2 is making adjustments on the fly in less milliseconds than OEM taking full advantage of the tuning envelope.

Whether you buy it from Ridetech or DSC you can trust they are putting their money where their mouth is. The results from the P-Car or Vette guys are very positive in the track times and results. Not to mention the race cars that are running the same tech but in a full race spec dampener. I want a Tractive system for my pro touring project but that is 10K I don't have budgeted. Tractive dampeners on the GT350 would be amazing. The V2 controller is required for those as well so future dampener upgrades are possible. And fwiw I am in no way affiliated...just researched/studied the tech and history.

I saw that tractive setup as well. That's not bad when you compare it to what a pro coil over setup costs.

Do you know if this can be uninstalled if you wanted to?

Also curious on how this affects longevity of he dampers.

The V2 controller can be easily uninstalled. I can't see where it would affect longevity. That said any race dampener pretty much requires annual rebuilds but a magneride rebuild I really have no idea.

Cortex also offers a controller with their name branded on it. I wonder what the difference is between DSC and Cortex?

Cortex is a Cortex tuned DSC Sport. Ridetech is Ridetech tuned DSC Sport.
I believe DSC Sport is basically the same as stock Magneride unit. They just added a USB port to the top. Instead of bench flashing updates via wiring harness connector. It's programmable while plugged into the car. It's pretty neat. You can even datalog the inputs and outputs through the connector (but requires laptop to be connected while logging).

It is virtually the same externally for the exception you noted. The guts and processing speed capability are much different than OEM. They were working on an update where you could tune/datalog wirelessly. All the V2 units have that built in but wasn't turned on yet. When they issue a firmware update if they haven't already it will enable the functionality.

Faster, thats cool. Wireless is nice too.

Do you know if they have plans for onboard data logging? Or plugging a thumb drive into USB port for logging? Might reduce my user error or chance of log getting disrupted by computer connection. Not a big deal to carry laptop, just curious. Thanks
