I wasn't sure where to put this, but I will leave it here. For those ice hockey players, when you are going to the rink, where do you put your bag and sticks? I currently have a hatch back so it is easy. However, with the mustang I am thinking maybe rear seat, folded down and the sticks down the passenger side door? Not really to interested in scuffing up the interior. Pics are always welcome.

for real dude? Go out to your car with your gear and see what works best.
I'm no expert, but judging by his signature, I'm gonna guess he doesn't have his car yet.

But yea, the trunk is fairly big, and you got extra space when folding the seats down. You won't have an issue transporting long and fairly skinny items, but anything that's bulky, you'll have a problem fitting through the trunk opening.

Bag in the trunk, sticks in the trunk through the rear seats folded down. fits no problem. If you a goalie might not be so easy, but my oversized bag and sticks fit.

Frankly I'm surprised the sticks don't fit in the trunk without folding down the seats. The trunk is huge in our cars! Way bigger than I will ever need.

I fit 2 MAK cat deletes in the trunk with plenty of room yesterday. The trunk is surprisingly large.

Depends how tall your are/what size stick you use. You might be able to fit them in diagonally in the trunk, but if not you'll have to put a seat down. Just make sure you don't leave the gear in there for extended periods of time (smell, trust me, I know) and have a good sealing bag for it all. If you don't have a stick bag I'd recommend tying a plastic bag around whatever end is going into the back-seat area (I recommend the knob). This will help it slide in and keep any tape residue from getting on anything in your interior.

Try a 16' Camaro SS. Had one as a rental car and you couldn't fit a Big Gulp through the trunk opening. It was ridiculous!

I agree, the Stang trunk is pretty spacious in general. It's a big car. The trunk opening could be a bit better but as I pointed out above, it could always be worse!

I rented a mustang while on a golfing vacation (mine is on order......two weeks to go!) and was able to fit two sets of clubs in the trunk. The sets themselves were inside a travel bag that I had to take off and put in the back seat with two carry-on's All in all pretty impressive amount of luggage. It was a convertible as well, which may have less overall space. Guessing on that last one.

I don't know about ice hockey gear, but I fit a full size suitcase, sleeping bag, tent, two air mattresses, and some other camping gear all in the trunk for my road trip that I took, I think a hockey bag would be fine.

BUT, I do not have the optional stereo, so no sub in my trunk. That may be something to think about, but I don't think it's really that much space.

Also, for the sticks, don't forget that the seats fold down, and from testing, not practice, I could lay across the folded seats with feet in the trunk and head not hitting the front seats, and I'm over 6 foot. I might have had to bend my knees a bit? I can't really remember.

Bought a new 7 foot 6 inch fishing pole last week my son bought a 7 foot. I would say you have 6 foot and 5 inches without going pass the back of front seats. The 7'6" pole was hitting my elbow on the center console.

I will never put my smelly gear and sticks in my mustang. One scratch or scuff from my stick blade on the plastics and I would be kicking myself, lol.

Thanks for all of the replies. As some of you suggested, but one person got right, the car hasn't arrived yet. I did get an updated date of 8/11, 5 days sooner than I last time. I have a stick bag. My main concern was getting the bag in without messing up the trunk seal.
