On a 2023 Mustang GT Premium, manual transmission (I mention this regarding the fob), is it possible to DISABLE the trunk-open button on the fob [NOT the dash-mounted switch]? Twice in a couple of months my trunk was found to be ajar, I am pretty sure [and cannot think of any other cause] that other keys in my pocket happened to press the trunk button twice (I know, twice makes it a more questionable feat)...in any event I'd rather be safe than sorry and can live with having only the dash-mounted trigger...any input would be appreciated. My only thought at this writing is to carefully 'superglue' inoperable the fob button, but I would much prefer to accomplish this using technology.

I never use the dash switch anyway. I just push the rubber pad above the license plate, as long as the key is with you, pops and good to go. I did that the other day at a show I was at and several of my Mustang peeps were with me and they all were amazed and didn't realize that trunk pop button was there. :). As for the key fob, as mentioned above, a quick disassembly and remove the plastic push pin inside that pushes the button.

thanks for that tip, removing the plastic protrusion, simple yet effective.

I always put the fob in my pocket with the buttons facing my thigh. Then if I bump into anything on the outside it won't trigger any of the buttons.

Those keys will just scratch your fob anyway so might as well separate them.

Maybe you can clip your keys onto a belt loop?

You’re right, GTP, that would be best.
I wish there was an option for the 55+ year old two sided flat brass key and a B-pillar keypad, that would work for me!
