Hi all!

I have a problem with my aftermarket system shutting down my radio at high volumes (sometimes). It will not turn on until after I manually power down the stereo and turn it back on. Both amps shut down at the same time. As far as I can tell from other posts, it seems to be related to the battery management system (BMS). Has anyone disabled this on their mustang yet? The trucks seem to have a seperate wire connecting to negative post of the battery, Im not sure if ours is the same. I am in the process of replacing battery with a high CCA one, and doing the big 3. I dont know if I will need a higher alternator yet or not.

If interested, Ill list what I have added.

Stock deck, converted with a PAC audio and fed via fiber optic to a JL Fix-88.
Skar 3500 RMS amp to the subs, and another skar 600w RMS amp to the Hertz.
Front and rear speakers replaced with Hertz pro line.

Thanks!

Why the Fix-88 after the Pac AmpPro? The AmpPro, especially when using the optical out, is a perfectly flat stereo signal. No need for a Fix-88 anymore.
Or is it a TwK-88? In this case i didn't say anything. ;)

I didn't disable the BMS in my Mustang, but i'm not running that much power as you do.
Have you tested your equipment? As far as i know the Pac AmpPro gives the remote turn on to the amplifiers, so i would start testing there. Could be as simple as a defective AmpPro.

With the F150 trucks people run the ground to the battery as the trucks have an aluminum chassis which isn't welded together, but is using rivets to connect all the parts of the frame. So using a chassis ground with high amounts of power is detrimental to the power and ground distribution in this case.
With the Mustang it's different. The frame is welded and using chassis ground points is perfectly fine.

Yes, it is a twk-88. My bad. I haven’t started testing yet as I am waiting on my new battery to get here.

I don’t think that’s going to be the problem. Just wanted to checkand see if anyone had disabled it yet.

You can disable it with ForScan.
