Anyone know if the chime sound upon startup can be disabled? I find it unnecessary and annoying, especially if I'm talking to someone during startup. I didn't see anything in the manual under "chime" and I'm not sure what else it would be called.

Do you have your seatbelt fastened before you start the car?

Usually not. I will give that a try when I leave work tonight, but it's a different chime than the seatbelt chime when the car is moving and my seatbelt isn't fastened.

Does your car not chime when you press the start button and the pony image comes on the display screen as the head unit is starting up?

I'm referring to the chime at 2:52 in this video:

That chime is supposed to only be for when an alert pops up on your dash screen

So yours doesn't do it on startup?

I've heard it most Mustang videos when the car starts up; it's not just my car.

That's the "something's wrong" chime. In that video, it was because the driver's door was open. It could also be the "your seatbelt isn't on" chime.

In my car, since I don't have TPMS on my winter tires, it chimes every time until I hit OK for the TPMS warning.

Buckling up before turning on the ignition solved the problem. I've never been in a car that made that sound before the car started moving forward. Thanks.

You should always buckle up before starting anyway :)
The only accident I ever got into was because I was putting my seatbelt on after I started rolling and hit a parked car because I was looking at my seatbelt rather than the road.
