Disable Dash Autodim

Hi
Is there anyway to disable the auto dim feature of the dash when the lights are on? Sometimes I turn on my head lights or park lights on a cloudy day and the dash just dims and sometimes turn off completely when going under a bridge or tunnel.
I would love to know how to turn this off as I prefer the dash lights bright

Mine does the same thing. It is irritating at times.

I asked similar question in the large Forscan thread in DIY section.

The answer given is take a piece of electric tape and place it over the sensor found dead center top of dash. Supposedly that sensor is what triggers the auto dash illumination based on exterior light (dusk/dawn).

I upgraded to the digital dash so it's not as annoying anymore.

Oddly enough, I turned off my auto on headlights for a full day. Once it got dark I turned the switch back auto position and now my dash lights work like they should without the daylight dimming behavior. Who knows, more unexplained Ford weirdness.
