Hey guys, I know I have a thread about options for more exhaust rumble but I wanted everyone’s thoughts on a true dual setup meaning no x-pipe or h-pipe. Don’t see too many videos online, curious as to how it will sound. For context currently have custom valved system with x-pipe and Catless headers.

it will not sound good from what i've read, regardless of what engine it is on. Has been tried many times. Google is your friend for examples.

Every muscle car from the 60's and 70's had true dual exhaust. They did not sound like shit.

Back pressure......ROFL

Exhaust Addicts did a few. They're raspy for sure and usually 118-120 db.

Pass.

Some may like it, but definitely not for me.

To be fair, the exhaust sounds raspy and loud because it has no mufflers and/or resonator(s)...not because it's a true dual setup that lacks a crossover.

If you put in a true dual resonator and some quality mufflers, it would sound pretty good and not raspy.

How do you like the sound?
Well its raspy in track mode , i dont love it but its not bad enough to spend the time and 150 bucks to replace it with an h or x pipe to me . Its my year around daily driver so i just dont want to spend on it , but its not terrible but id rather have an h pipe .

You are correct, those cars didn't rev as high and didn't have OHCs, and these cars have smaller cubic inches but make make more power.

What is your point? smaller more efficient engines require H pipes? What about LS engines? they are much larger than yotes.

OR are you saying Coyotes need back pressure? If so I hope you build the exhausts on all the cars I race against.

That example is bad, straight pipe don't sound that good usually. I am sure with some mufflers and resonator might sound good or decent. Its hard to make V8s sound bad.

Agreed, hearing that you need back pressure always makes me chuckle.
