What are your thoughts on this aftermarket transmission oil pan with a drain plug? Has anyone installed one of these? I am thinking of installing one of these for quick and easy fluid changes every few track days. Also, if I routinely do an oil drain and fill without changing the filter would that cause any issues? I have a transmission service scheduled and the dealer says they do a transmission flush, but everything I read says to avoid doing that with a 6R80. That's why I'm considering just doing it myself and installing one of these while I'm at it.

The only way to flush a 6R80 is to get it over 200 degrees, that is the temp the Tstat opens.

Some common sense here:
Cleaner fluid is better than dirty one
Changing filter is better than not
Transmission flush remove all the fluid at once.
No reason to be bad. Obviously it depends on how they do the flush

Unless the Tstat is open you are not flushing anything.

I just remove the pan replace the filter. I don't like the idea of a drain plug . I prefer to be able to clean out the pan ,it does collect some fibers. I do it around 60k klm.
I use motorcraft ulv.

Clean fluid is more important than the filter. Even severe usage and you can get 30+k out of a filter

I love a drain plug. It makes pulling the pan easier. If you track often you can change fluid and every other time change the filter.

I really prefer a drain plug on the trans pan as well, makes the whole process less messy. That being said I used a Doman pan with drain plug on my wife’s Jeep to replace the OEM pan. The pan was ok but the plug itself never stopped leaking. It wasn’t a small leak either, football sized puddles over night. I ended up returning it and getting an AFE aluminum pan that also had a drain plug and it’s been leak free. I have very little love for Dorman products, working in auto parts I see all the warranty parts that come back.
