I accept that this is treason lolz.
I purchased the Bullitt new and sadly it has been a frustrating experience. It got to the point where I am done with new American vehicles until the quality and service improves.
The problems with the Bullitt:
-Failed strut mounts, replaced under warranty (took the dealership 2 months and ended with me calling ford customer support because the dealership refused to do an alignment even though I offered to pay)
-Digital dash randomly goes blank, multiple dealerships could not/would not repair, even when they could duplicate the problem
-Very clunky drivetrain, my 2000 Mustang GT with 175k miles that I used to own was less clunky!
-Drivetrain vibrations at around 65mph, I suspected the driveshaft
-Lazy performance
-Vehicle stability software really limits the usage of the power and limits power prior to wheel spin
-Holding the traction control button for 10+ seconds and changing drive modes on every drive is annoying
-Gear ratios of the MT82D4 make the car feel sluggish
-No mustang that I’ve driven with a manual transmission since the T45 ever felt like it shifted acceptably. There is always difficulty on upshifts, the synchronizer’s struggle to allow for a crisp and fast shift
The Civic Si will not win any straight line races but it feels great. It is eager to accelerate and is so much lighter and willing to turn! The ratios are similar to the MT82D4 but the final ratio of 4.35:1 really makes it feel lively. The manual transmission in this car shifts extremely well like a manual should! Traction control doesn’t seem to care if you get wheel spin, I have not felt any reduction in power or interference while driving. 400-500hp would feel amazing in this chassis.
My loyalty still lies with V8 RWD vehicles but for now this works for me. I’m still in shock with how good this car performs in real life versus how the specifications make it seem.
