Finished Sunday in about 2 hours. Man this was nerve racking for me. The first hole I cut had a couple oh shit moments when the wheel jumped a bit and took a bit of paint off that would not be covered by the vent. A little touch up paint and good to go. The second hole was much smoother and I did not have to go back over it and open the hole anymore to allow space for the nuts (i dropped one nut and one washer into the hood, doh!!).

Well done wmfateam and it looks awesome on the lightning blue. Don't worry about the lost bolt/nut as that's why you get extras. It's amazing how much faster the second hole cutting goes over the first. :)

Lets see an under hood shot.

Wow! these look so badass

for those of you that drive your cars regularly, is rain a big concern? or is only way to get around it to just go with a sealed intake?

I try not to drive my car in the rain but not because of the vents moreso for the fact I hate how dirty it gets and the cleaning that follows. Sometimes it’s unavoidable and there is no issue for me at all as my air box is sealed. If you have an open air box that is a problem unless you get a rain sock. No rain gets in while you’re driving for the most part due to aerodynamics and air pressure keeping it out. It’s more when your stationary. Mines been parked in the rain several times and it’s a nonissue for me either side.

They make a center vent now.
Trackspec? For an S550? How do I get it? I've got a spare GT hood just waiting to get cut up. Nevermind, I'll contact them on IG. They said they had one in development but never told me it was available.

If you don’t mind me thread-crapping, here are a few of mine I recently did....

That’s not thread-crapping. That’s showing some fine detailed work. Well done.

Cheers Mate ;) Yeah, a bit tricky on the older style 2015-2017 non-vented factory hoods, blah....

A big center vent is going to do more for cooling and aero than the side vents by a lot. The high pressure is right behind the rad so the center vent is placed right there to get that high pressure air out of there. The side ones are fine for looks but they don't flow nearly as much as the center one does.
