a golf R or a mustang GT? how are these on the same levelYea, I really wish we could get some clear answers here. If the PP GT is going to be limited, I'll wait and buy a VW Golf R instead.

depending on what you want to do with it, you would be surprised.a golf R or a mustang GT? how are these on the same level
They're easily on the same level.a golf R or a mustang GT? how are these on the same level
Yea, i too, am coming from a Subie. 2005 STi to be exact. It made 410awhp. I feel like i am going to miss the awd aspect. That is the ONLY reason i looked at the Golf R. However, i did decide to go ahead and order a GT with PP a few weeks ago. So, my decision is already made lol.one is based off an econobox chassis, and the other is designed from the ground up as a performance car.
this is coming from someone who had an econobox based "performance car"
Actually you can't. Price might be the same but performance wise its another level. The mustang is putting down numbers rivalling cars twice the price it is. Car and Driver compared all those expensive cars including a 458 and chose mustang gt pp as a second because the car is a blast to drive and u get more for the money. If that gold f was the 400 hp version with maybe a base price over 40k then we would be talking apples to apples. I wish VW will come up with that 400hp golf r with reasonable pricing.Well, they're both performance cars. One is awd and turbo, but pricing is similar and i would put them in the same category. Almost.
Power to weight ratio wise, the Golf R is probably similar to the GT. Still, with the Golf R running as much as GT Premium, it's still a no-brainer in my mind to go with the Mustang. The GTI is a much better deal for a car that can probably be tuned to run as much HP as the Golf R anyway.Actually you can't. Price might be the same but performance wise its another level. After driving a MkVII GTI, there's no way I'd consider one anymore. It's the perfect car for someone looking for a jack-of-all, what with its mature looks, nice interior, and relatively good driving dynamics. But it's just so sterile to drive. If you like driving at the limit you're just greeted to gentle understeer. The steering is accurate and fast, and the engine isn't bad, but they're hardly firecrackers. I didn't find myself impressed by the driving dynamics viewing them in isolation, but I was impressed to see a little hatch acting as composed as it was.Power to weight ratio wise, the Golf R is probably similar to the GT. GTI/Golf R is probably second or third on my shopping list behind the Mustang, but it's just too expensive for what you get IMO, and it looks like a Golf Cart. This is coming from someone who drives a Honda Fit right now; I'm ready for something that is sexy to look at and a blast to drive. The Golf/GTI hot hatches are undoubtedly fun to drive, but I'm tired of being anonymous on the road.
I've owned these hot hatch cars and believe me they are fun, practical, and perform quite nicely.a golf R or a mustang GT? how are these on the same level
