Is there a track mode on the base GT, I understand that there is normal, comfort and sport modes on the base. Is track mode only on the premium?

I believe you're thinking driving modes. the drive modes are only available on the premium. the steering mode is what's available on the base models.

I have asked this question many times and still no clear answer. A base GT with Performance Pack should have something like a track mode. Are we to assume base GT PP sport mode is the same as track mode? Did Ford program the PP sport mode differently than the non-PP sport mode? What is the REAL difference between sport and track mode anyway?

You'd think the base gt pp would have a track mode. That's the only version of the car that would ever be on a race track in race prep.

It's possible traction control off on those cars might completely disable the system like "track mode/traction off" on the premium cars.

It's traction control... and or steering response but how about reading it in the owners manual?

You can adjust modes with the base IP's TCS button. A double tpa normally puts it into sport mode... not sure about track.

The owners manual does not answer this question. Why have a track package and no track mode? Or, is sport mode on the PP truly track mode? I realize you can't change the steering feel on non-premium models, but when you have a base GT with PP, is it really in track mode when you have it set to sport?

The base models do in fact have adjustable steering feel.

This is exactly how I felt about it, a toggle switches to select "track mode" should be part of the performance package, not the $4K "bells and whistles" premium package.

AGREED. So, basically in the PP you are just paying for Brembos and different wheels.
