If the OEM prices for the sensors are what is steering you away, get the ones tire rack sells. They are made by Schraeder, who makes them for Ford. I use them. They are 100% identical to OEM.I picked up some OEM wheels to mount some cup 2's for the track. Do I have to run sensors or can I leave them out?
Thanks
I have the metal tire rack ones, highly recommend. If the OEM prices for the sensors are what is steering you away, get the ones tire rack sells. They are made by Schraeder, who makes them for Ford. I use them. They are 100% identical to OEM.
The car will remember 2 sets of wheels. Swap them out and they should be recognized. Sometimes you see dashes, that usually clears itself. If it doesn't you use a TPMS reset tool.I also have two sets of OEM wheels (Gen 1 and Gen 2) that I alternate between. I noticed my TPMS would fault when I switched to my gen 2 set. Do each have to be programmed to the car? They won't auto recognize?
Agreed. I have 3 sets of wheels/tires total and all have TPMS and pair fine. I leave the pressures screen up on track as an indication of the tires warming up (or overheating).I have two sets of track rims with sensors. I am a big fan of watching tire psi on the track. While they are not 100% accurate, they are useful to see and monitor when the psi's increase.
Exactly! In my experience, tire temps are the only worthwhile thing for the driver to monitor on the track. Everything else has a computer watching it that's way smarter and can react faster than the nut behind the steering wheel.I have two sets of track rims with sensors.
