Recently I bought a set of wheels and tires. LMR SVE R350 with 305/30 and 315/30 PS4's. I bought all new TPMS sensors. Brought them to Sullivan tire to get mounted and balanced. Had a hard time finding anyone to mount 30 series tires.

They said they had a really hard time with the front tires to get them mounted. They had the front wheels for about 3 or 4 days.

Anyways, tried the TPMS relearn procedure. Cant get the fronts to connect with the transmitter at all. I tried the hazard light version also (letting air out of the tire) dropped 8psi and never honked the horn. The relearn tool connects to the rear sensors no problem. Ive tried so many different angles to get the front to connect.|

Is there any sort of trick? Or is it most likely they broke the TPMS on install of the tire?

I had a similar issue with new wheels and tires; first sensor was broken and after installing a second sensor it still didn't work. If you haven't resolved the issue, it could be a sensor with an incorrect frequency. Ford parts gave me the wrong sensor. There are 2 different versions, both have different frequencies. The version in the picture below is OEM, and once installed, tire pressure readings worked again. FYI, price is approx $80 each.

Cool thanks for including the part number. Yeah I bought the set of 4 from LMR, the 2 in the rear work no problem. 2 in the front dont. So Im leaning towards they broke them.

They had a hard time mounting 30 series tires? WTF? Dude you should find a new tire shop. I just had my wife's Cayenne GTS in yesterday at Radial Tire in Silver Spring and they did all four wheels in 30 mins (line up was 2 hours long, but these guys are really good and inexpensive). These are 30 series 22 inch wheels and tires. No competent shop should have an issue with 30 series tires.

It doesn’t mean there inexperienced. 30 series tires can be a real pain in the arse depending on the equipment they have. I’d also rather some one took there time and didnt damage a wheel then rush. Its why I bought my own equipment for my cars and trucks.
