I hope I'm not duplicating a previous discussion, I couldn't seem to find, one so here goes.

My question is:

Is there more or less driveline slop having Torsen vs Trac Loc?

I'm talking about the back and forth clunk/slop at stop and go/parking lot speeds and the slop feeling you can hear & feel while at cruising speeds when you are coasting then tap the throttle and you can feel the driveline slop.

Now, if one had say 750+ rwhp what diff would handle this best? I had an 05' that had 70,000 miles when I supercharged it. I decided to have gears changed to 3.55 and when they got in there the clutch packs were junk. They highly recommended I switch to an Auburn Locker (similar to Torsen?) which I did.

Just wondering if someone was going to change gears what diff should be considered for this application?

I can't answer your question but I will say that the torsen is weak. With a 3500 rpm launch on drag radials, mine broke. If you are looking to change, what about a wavetrac? I'm sure that Terry will give you a good price.

Not feeling the massive cost to get one then have it installed. I was thinking about buying a completed carrier with track lock and just swapping.

I am sure the Wavetrack is better than Torsen I'm just wondering if the driveline is smoother with Trac Loc vs Torsen and if the Torsen can handle (non track or drag strip) cars with 750+ rwhp

Torsen diffs are not optimal for drag racing. They perform better and are designed more for performance driving/road course use.

Agreed, I don't track and may only see a few drag strip days in my cars lifetime, I'm referring to everyday normal and spirited driving.

2013 and 2014 GT500s has torsen and a lot of people drag race them, if you are running high horsepower then I'd be worried, detroit true tracs stronger I believe

I know the drive line slop isnt from the Torsen but will the TracLok mask it better?

Have you changed out your weak factory 2 piece driveshaft? That will cause lots of slop. I do think trac lok will definitely be less sloppy because it functions a little different I believe

I have only about 4000 miles, hope this is just a natural break in for the diff that the torsen has some play. If there's no sign of fluid leaking then it's not the seal so maybe it's just natural. My buddy has the true trac and his clunks but he's driving a 05 GTO so you can't totally compare
