Scrapes like this are new to me so I just need to know if this scrape is minor and if the tire is still safe. I just noticed this scrape that's about 2mm deep, just rubber inside it. I drive very spirited so I just want to be sure it's safe...

Am I good to go without replacing it?

Just pretend it's an upside down 3PMSF mark and you can use that tire in the winter.

thanks everyone for the helpful responses! It's nice to have people chime in with actual helpful information rather than random sarcastic comments

Only 2 worries about sidewall damage. Actual lacerations where you can see splitting, like much deeper than that, and bulging, means a belt broke. That cannot be driven on. (I say this but I take backroads limping slow speeds avoiding bumps to go get a new tire) it happens from potholes or something like a curb.
But yeah you’re safe on that.

And of course something shoved through sidewall, but you’d be flat so that is obvious
