Hey All,

I hit a pothole with my driver side front tire. Only visible damage is the bumper and fender came separated. Doing a visual inspection and some online searches it looks like there is a bolt that holds the two parts together. There does not appear to be any damage to the bolt or the threaded hole. If that is the case, I have no idea how it became separated.

Going to take it to the dealership to have the wheel, suspension, and alignment checked. But, I would like to fix the body damage. It doesnt seem to be as easy as just pushing it back into place. Anyone have any experience with this?

That sucks , I hit a pothole the other day I thought my LF wheel and tire exploded off the car ...
Everything seems to be ok in my case ....

The dealer may be able to deal with the separation issue may not need a body shop involved if you going to the dealer anyway ... Good luck , sorry this happened .

It looks like the bumper got pulled clean off the bolt. Not sure if the 350R’s are like the other 15-17 S550’s but those fasteners were known for breaking fairly easily (the 18+ design is much better). Dealer should be able to replace the fastener and you should be good to go after that. I think there’s some tabs that lock it in there as well, but I haven’t taken my front bumper off in a while so I don’t recall for sure.

Same, it was a pretty loud noise! Glad it was just a little problem. Just mad at myself that I didnt see the pothole coming. Luckily VDOT already filled it in.

I looked at it a little more and the bolt and hole are both intact. Very strange. I appears for the GT350 you need to remove the wheel to be able to remove the whole wheel wheel cover. This will then let you access the one bolt to snap it back into place. Would be an easy fix if I had the correct jacks but Ill just wait for the dealership since I am going there anyway for my state inspection.

Did you file a claim with the Town/County and provide pics of the damages? If not, I certainly would do it.

As was stated, those bumper cover fasteners always broke when trying to R&R the front bumper cover.

Here's some various DIY threads for the repair:

In this thread someone is offering 3D printed bumper cover repair clips:

That's a good point... definitely check the wheel on back side for any cracks in the barrel, edge or spokes.
