Hey everyone I have a 17 FBO mt82 5.0 tuned by Lund. I’m getting the ESS g2 115 pulley. Right now I have Mickey Thompson street comp 285 in the back. I don’t dig the car often I do rolls. I don’t think I would hook with a 285 but tell me if I’m wrong. I was looking at the Mickey Thompson street SS R. Is it possible for me to hook up good on rolls with out a radial if so what size tire would yall think I would need. I have a 10 inch wide wheel in the back and need to know if I should get new ones to fit 315 or just get a rear set of raidials

What speed? 60mph roll you should be good with most of the ultra high performance summer tires out there. 30-40mph you're probably going to want a Nitto or MT drag radial (SS not the R)

40 and 60 rolls. I’m gonna put a 305/35/19 NITTO NT555 G2 Summer Ultra High Performance Tire on my 19x10

I'm at 700whp and the 305/45/R17 ET Street Rs do great on the street. But I also don't daily my drag pack. It's more of a racing event setup that I switch over to.

At 650rwhp on the Nitto 555G2's in a 305/35(I think)/18 on my GT500 I would blow the tires away at even a 60mph roll. Those G2's aren't gonna hook, my friend.

Use any uhp summer tire other than the g2. They work just fine on the front but are worthless on the back for traction. It's a joke they are considered "ultra high performance".

Please Please Please don't buy a nitto g2

It is basically an all season tire with none of the benefits of all season besides it lasts a while.

If you already bought it return it. You have to trust me on this. You will not hook until like 100+. It also is just a bad tire to daily drive as it sucks in the rain.

Yes heart dropped when I read that he is buying g2s. I hope he sees this before getting them installed and gets different tires

To hook on a 40 roll you are going to want to get some MT ET street R. Tire width doesn't matter a whole lot, the compound matters far more.

Go ahead and buy a drag pack (don't need the fronts), and get the ET street R. You should be looking for a 17 inch rim with 10-11 width. Not sure what tire height you would want but more sidewall is better.

If you are wanting a more "daily" tire get the MT ET Street SS. Same compound but has a tread design so it can handle some water.

If you want a tire you can daily and might last a bit and might hook good luck haha, very challenging to find such a tire and people's opinions are very mixed. My R888Rs do okay but I am making a good bit less hp. I can confidently say they wouldn't hook on a 40 roll for you. They might do okay on a 60 roll though.

Gotcha I will probably just buy a rear set of the MT and throw those on when I want to have fun. Only problem I’m having right now is that I want to still be able to corner well nothing major but I enjoy a spirted cruise here and there.

The fastest coyote on the planet runs 275s… compound matters… not width.

he doesn't run the same drag radials you or I do, has Motec with traction control, a rear suspension that costs as much as a brand new Mustang...
Who is it? Forgive my ignorance but seems like it would be a fun build read.
