Ok, so I saw this earlier and had to come here with it. I know all you guys and gals that were doing car audio back in the day remember this as well as I do. Anyway, enjoy and Happy almost Friday 🤭

I miss that shit too. The last carthat I was able to do anything to was my 2005 SRT4. Still had the subs still had fantastic head unit everything going on now I can’t even touch these cars. I don’t even wanna touch the car because there’s just too much going on with the NAV and everything like that. I wish they make it a little easier for people.

Bruv... I had the first JVC 12 disc MP3 changer. The AMOUNT of music I could listen to was amazing... game changer. Took like 25 seconds to change a disc tho. :)

... and the little remote that came with it. Awesome. I couldn't afford the Nakamichi or Kenwood stuff but I did what I could. Great video.

Home depot parking lot installing 6x9s... with the little round voice coil in the middle of it. Great memories.

I loved doing that stuff, giant sub boxes in the trunk, car rattling so much it’s a wonder it didn’t come apart LOL. All through high school and even a little in college, my buddies and I would all work on each others car audio stuff. It was so much fun. I’d still work on speakers today, that hasn’t changed much. The head units with all the cameras and nav and stuff is an added complexity. Not that I couldn’t figure it out, but I just don’t have the same kind of time that I used to.

Making the enclosures was the funnest part for me. I'd swap my two 12s between my '91 mustang and '83 winter car. The '83 accord got even faster as the subs would literally shake the rust off everything. Active weight savings.

I'll take an old Punch or PPI amp over almost anything today... Nothing better than being in my sh*t box 87 Civic hatch with two 12's. Watching the roof cave in and out while pissing everyone around me off. I thought i was the man... lol

lol this video hit me hard as I had a removable face radio back in the 90s too and you’re damn right, I never left without it. Stupid case would overfill my pockets.

Same here. I always took mine with me. My brother learned the hard way, he forgot shortly after we installed one in his car. Came out from wherever we were a couple hours later and his driver side window was broken and the head unit was gone. All of his CD’s too

I had a 6-disc changer and then I got into the Mini-CD player so I could record the songs I liked to one disc and that significantly cut down the amount of discs I had to carry.

I have 2 PPI A600 art series just got refurbished going in my boat. Back in the day I would run a whole system on 1 punch 45 at 2ohm all day long.

I eventually did a 6 disc as well, but I always seemed to have at least 30 CD’s in the car LOL
