Depends upon if the structural underbody was damaged. Probably not.

yep, With parts so hard to get it is worth more for parts then it is to rebuild.
And just as well, as it will never be as good as new. I hope you get a fair settlement.

First, hopefully everyone is ok. Second, yeah they’ll likely total for the reason stated above.

Taking into account the high book value of used cars, I say no to being totaled.

Def. totaled, i bet thats atleast 20k+ in damage. My son just totaled his 21 EB. It had quarter panel damage that didnt look nearly that bad, but all side air bags deplyed.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. My vote is for a total. Not because I want you to have to have such bad luck, but the damage may not be all where you see it in the photos.

However, I just had a buddy who had his Honda pushed down the Interstate by a bus that made a lane change into his left rear quarter for several hundred yards. I thought that was a total. But 12K later his Honda is back on the road, and he is pleased with the result. It is not a good time to be in the market to replace a vehicle with a new or used one right now.

Get your quotes and do what is best for you. Looks like you have no liability so that is a good start.

Several years ago, I totaled a Lexus with similar-ish looking damage, but it was "only" about ~$18-20K in damage, and this was at the front of the vehicle with a deployed airbag. So drivetrain damage, and more obvious frame issues, plus the airbag. I would think this might be in better shape, but maybe prices on repairs are more ridiculous than normal right now.

His was the rear quarter panel also? Interesting, I wouldn't have thought it would be that expensive in the rear. As I said above, I would think it might be a halfway reasonable repair, but it's so hard for the average person to say with these things.
