Yeah, all side airbags deployed as well.Several years ago, I totaled a Lexus with similar-ish looking damage, but it was "only" about ~$18-20K in damage, and this was at the front of the vehicle with a deployed airbag. So drivetrain damage, and more obvious frame issues, plus the airbag. I would think this might be in better shape, but maybe prices on repairs are more ridiculous than normal right now.
His was the rear quarter panel also? Interesting, I wouldn't have thought it would be that expensive in the rear. As I said above, I would think it might be a halfway reasonable repair, but it's so hard for the average person to say with these things.
Glad you're ok. What's the back story on that, if you care to post any more info.
There's a high probability it's totaled, most likely underlying damages we're not seeing. I'm sure the trunk pan is wrinkled up too. I'd also suspect the unibody is tweaked with such a hard impact. Is the C-pillar on passenger side tweaked at all or roof past the rear glass (look for any small ripples)?
You do have options:
1) Let them total it and you walk away with their payout (minus any deduction for remaining loan amount if one still exists and if no GAP insurance)
2) Let them give you a payout figure that you deem fair, then after you have that figure ask what it will be if you want to keep the car. They'll deduct the ACV value of the car and pay you the difference. Now you have the car/title and can part it, or sell it as is to someone wanting a drivetrain for a swap or kit car to get even more $$$ in your pocket than a single payout.
3) Do the same as #2 above, but make it into a race car and repair it as needed (IF theres no underlying unibody damages and it's all just fascia/sheet metal).
Do NOT take a payout figure in any instance until you determine it's fair and online with current market valuations.
Depends upon if the frame was damaged. Probably not.
Airbag didn’t go off. Car was parked with nobody in it for almost an hour when it was hit.Definately a yes. Airbag deploy?
How in the F does someone in a raised Jeep NOT see a Mustang (or any other vehicle for that matter) and hits it at a steady 40mph.... What a tool. She's damn lucky it was not a kid on a bicycle or a pedestrianCar was parked. Lady that hit it didn’t even see it and plowed into it at 40mph in her raised 4x4 jeep. She never applied her brakes.
Confirmed Cell phone fool at the wheelCar was parked. Lady that hit it didn’t even see it and plowed into it at 40mph in her raised 4x4 jeep. She never applied her brakes.
No frame unibody Mustang never has had one from day 1
They will buff it out on the boatAnother easily repairable car coming to Europe!
There are no frames in these cars, but more than likely will be totaled.Depends upon if the frame was damaged. Probably not.
