The batteries in these cars are very very small for weight and space savings, and from my experiences if they are not kept on a tender, especially during winter with cold winter temperatures and your leaving the car for two weeks without using it, its going to become a problem.
I don't keep mine on a tender and it has sat for a weeks to over month, during freezing temperatures, with zero issues. I'd say it is car dependent.

Same here. I would say, it's battery dependent.

The battery log on my car shows it drops about 10% in a week and usually these things are not linear so the longer its not charging the faster it declines.

Unfortunately the biggest detractor that we have for short battery life is excessive heat and not cold.

Back in June 2013 I was able to locate and purchase "PP0002" which was a 2012 Pilot Production Boss 302 (1st 4 seat PP Boss 302 built in October 2010) and it had the original OEM Motorcraft battery in it upon purchase.

For the next 6 years of ownership I regularly used a battery tender on it and in addition I would disconnect the battery when in not in regular use.

Ended up selling that car to a great friend of mine up in Pennsylvania in 2019 and it is my understanding that the original Motorcraft battery still continues to fire up PP0002 after 10 1/2 years of use.

I realize that I am pretty anal when it comes to OEM Motorcraft batteries but must say that had good success with them over many years of ownership.

Good luck to the OP and as many others have suggested I agree that this is a weak battery issue therefore should be an easy fix.

rule 1 always clean your battery terminals. take em off, and use a post brush to clean the posts and the inside of the clamps. so many mis-diagnosed bad batteries due to this, or loose clamps. check water level .. even 'maintenance free' lead acid batteries have a large cap/s covering multiple cells.

tester - those load testers with the heating element are grossly inaccurate. They dont account for battery capacity and condition. Often indicate good on a bad battery, and only indicate charge, not health.

Get a conductance tester - amazon $30 - you set them for the type of battery chemistry you have, batteries CCA, etc then run a test.

once battery is ruled out as above, check alternator is working .... obviously 14+ indicated volts it is ... then you are getting into other territory with wiring.

another good check is to verify your ground connections at the shock tower and block are clean and tight.

I had the same message on my 20. Took it to the dealership and it was a current sensor. The system was overcharging 15 volts due to the faulty sensor

Had power steering failure message and no start. Put battery on 4amp tender to charge it up and haven't had an issue since. These batteries are very sensitive.
