Back in April of 2017, I sold my airplane and on the same day took a portion of the funds to a dealer, and purchased a new 2017 GT in Lightning Blue.

Car had the performance package and equipment group 400A, and that was about it.

I stroked a check to Van Drunen Ford in Homewood, IL for $38,601.44 on April 21, 2017.. and drove it home

The plan was to not modify the car in any way, that didn't last too long.

Now that it's 9 years old, I'll need to dig back and find what I can for previous mods, etc.

I have a picture of it at the stealership but I can't find it, so this is the next oldest known photo from the day I brought it home.

First order of business was undoing the damage the dealership had done. Car was immediately washed, taped up and wheels bagged - corrected and coated.

Spot polishing some deeper stuff. There were a few very deep defects that are still there today.

Wheels were coated too.

Boredom with a camera and tripod:

Post correction. First "mod" on everything is window tint. 20%, and 5% windshield strip.

Next item was probably mandatory for any Mustang guy all the way back to the Foxbody era...

Catback! I wanted something that was nice, and didn't sound like raspy dog poop.

Answer was AWE Touring. Exemplary construction, fit and finish. You always take a gamble on whether or not your ears will like it, but mine did. Sounded wonderful.

This is not my first MT82. My previous car was purchased in 2012, and it was also equipped with 3 pedals:

So.. shifter. MGW. Not a lot of pictures of that. In fact I'm having trouble digging up pictures from so long ago, doh.

I knew car was going to get up in the air enough that I didn't want to destroy pinch welds, so Steeda jacking rails were installed. Not much more to say about those.

Here's a neat pic stolen from Steeda's website. LOL.

What hood is that? It looks like a mini cowl hood.

It’s the OEM hood.

Ha! Thanks for clearing that up! My brain wasn’t making the trip from air/oil separator to hood.

Sometime a year or 2 after I got the car, my friend bought me Eibach Pro-Kit springs, so I threw them on. Before and after.. I don't think the car had settled yet, didn't look like the advertised change. Those springs eventually got the boot anyways.

I think a year went by, I had no plans to go further, then my roommate kept being cute "put a blower on it, you won't" and initially I ignored him.. and then I gave in.

Called Beefcake and had a system put together.

At this point the car had 4,806 miles on it. Warranty? Eh who cares.
