I am also looking for a 2016 "R" allocation preferably in the north east. Please PM me with details.

Thanks.
Let me know what he says, it would be kool if it worked out. In fact, if I were you, I'd catch a flight into Pittsburgh. I can arrange to have you picked up at the airport and dropped off. You can handle it from there, as long as you take me for a spin.

Let me know and shoot me a Friends Request on FB (if not already). Its in a rich part of area and there are lots of nice places to eat nearby.

Thanks again for the lead Pill.

I PM'ed you the details. Right now, it's a wait and see situation. Since they are only getting one allocation I don't think it will be an "R" unless this is somehow a second allocation that they won by lottery. Usually dealers get 1 "R" for every 3 non "R"'s based on their past Mustang sales.

Again, thank you for the lead as well as your service to our country.

I will keep you in the loop if this progresses.

"Cruzinaround" - Do you stil have that "R" lead? :)

Thanks,

Mike

Im looking for a R also, but I want to build it out to my preferences. I'll pay an ADM, just nothing outrageous.

I'm 2nd in line to buy a 2016 GT350R at $0 ADM, lucky to know the dealer on personal level and he know's I'll tear this thing apart. Fingers crossed. I wanted to wait until later next year but if this deal comes through in the next month or two I'm all in. The CD I put my 2011' GT cash into doesn't mature until January so I'll have to finance a good chunk of this car for a few months.

Lucky you twice- once, because you got a MSRP R build, twice, because you won't get it until after your CD matures.

I'm not sure if you guys heard, but in the next week or so, 350Rs are on hold until March. The tires they use are not winter tires, and Ford doesn't want to warranty tires for cracking on the way to the dealers in the dead of winter. I'm bummed too, because it means I have zero chance over the winter to get mine. Here in Texas, weather is actually really nice for driving usually. (South Texas anyway). You guys are free to get a second source on this, but trust me- it's a fact. I know just enough people to be bitter I didn't get an allocation.

I'm second in line, not likely getting the car, I put my odds at 15%. I bet they ship R models before March though .

Are the "R" tires some how different than any compound previously used on a street legal performance vehicle. Does not sound like Ford has much faith in the chosen tire and compound if this is true. Weird.

Well, most performance tires are summer only anyway. The Rs get the Cup 2 tires which are even better for performance, but a little more fragile to cold. I just asked where I heard this on the GT350R Facebook page, and two other Shelby regional directors told me they heard that also, so Im thinking maybe it might have been brought up in one of our conference calls. (Im regional director for Southern Plains- TX, LA, OK and AR). I just asked the lead for the Niche Engine Team in Dearborn, and he says he hasnt heard that himself, but it wouldnt surprise him if that were the case, and his team probably would continue production of 5.2s anyway. Better to have a surplus Im sure. I mean, I want an R myself and really want it asap, so I hope Im completely wrong, but I dont think I am. I guess we will know for sure here in a couple weeks either way. I dont tend to feed misinformation on forums as that would impact my reputation and not be very helpful to anyone.

If they are not Ford employees, I would not consider them a credible source for information. If Chevrolet and Chrysler can manage to ship cars with summer only high performance tires, so can Ford.
