Of the 4 years that the Base R's were produced Lightning Blue was only available for 2017 and 2018 with 4 LB Base R's built in 2017 and only 1 LB Base R model for 2018 for a total of 5.

FWIW, the other rarest Base R colors for the 4 years of production and 13 colors offered were:

Triple Yellow - 4
Grabber Blue - 3
Lead Foot Gray - 3
Kona Blue - 2

Unfortunately not one person ordered a Base R in Orange Fury!

I ran into the owner of one of those Kona Blue base cars a few months ago. He was complaining about the Cup 2 tire life and no A/C. He bought the car used out of state but I don't think he really knew what he had.

Whoa, I love that Kona Blue. Why do the outside R's look wider than the middle 350? Angles, they really do mess with you.

I think it was mostly the angles. Front splitter and tire/wheels also might give that effect. It's funny though because the Kona R owner kept saying how my car looked wider than his. So maybe colors have a part in it too.

They were pulling over a bunch of people too who were trying to go. Not even car show cars were safe, Toyota Carolla's were getting stopped too

Always amazes me at people who drop money on something like a GT350R and are surprised by things like that. I can't imagine ever being that affluent
