I'm trying to decide if it's my steeda H-pipe or the factory mufflers. Because from inside my car I can't really hear any discernable difference between, normal, sport and track at idle or RPM when driving.

Quiet mode works great and I don't have any errors on the dash. I'm curious to see if M1 owners find there is a large difference in terms of sound, between the different exhaust modes. I know M1s supposedly have different mufflers than the GTs, so maybe that part of it.

I have a ā€˜20 GT and two ā€˜23 Mach 1s, all stock with AE. To your question since I run all 3 in track mode virtually all the time it’s a little hard to say how much difference exists between modes on the same car. But based on the few times when my wife drives and never comes out of normal mode I’d say there’s a pretty significant difference.

And although my GT is loud AF in track mode (especially with the top down) it’s fair to say the Mach 1s are a little louder, and also have a deeper tone it seems.

In track mode they all sound nothing short of amazing, even stock. It’s hard for me to believe that in this day and time they can get away with selling a car to the general public that can get this loud with just the flip of a switch. The way these cars sound is a huge part of their appeal, at least to me.

IMO track and sport sound the same but I can definitely tell a difference between normal and those two on acceleration. At idle all three sound the same to me. And yes, quiet is definitely the easiest to tell the difference with.

When I got my H-pipe on I noticed a bit of a difference with cabin noise but it wasn't huge. Same thing with external noise. Just made it a little bit louder but not TO loud after doing the x-pipe delete. I definitely prefer it with the resonator delete over having it still in and was able to tell a difference only in track mode really or towards the end of the RPM band when it always goes wide open no matter the mode you're in.

Before my H-pipe there was a very noticeable difference between quiet and all the other modes. (Not at idle mostly driving and downshifting is quiet).

After H-pipe all the other modes got much louder and raw, cold starts sound amazing. But the best part is now quiet is still quiet. The difference between Quiet and sport is night and day now.

There is definitely a diff in track and sport as well. I notice it mostly in probably the 2-3K range where it seems sport is still a little less aggressive.

Aside from it being louder, do you still notice a difference in the exhaust modes after the h-pipe?

Normal to Sport plus definitely louder and more drone. Sport plus and track mode is still hard to distinguish, probably at WOT you hear that difference more.

Think of it like this. If quiet mode = 0 and Track mode = 10

Quiet = 0
Normal = 6
Sport plus = 9
Track = 10

Interesting. I'm not finding that at all. I basically have quiet and loud.

I even checked and confirmed the exhaust valves are moving.

What h-pipe do you have?

Maybe I should call it a 7 for normal......

I have the Steeda H-Pipe. In reality though its hard to distinguish so don't quote me! lol I am always on sport plus(loud) then switch to quiet for neighbors and cops.

Notice it most while driving, I noticed more drone in sport plus than normal mode. Try it

The easiest way i can explain it is as follows: the valves are mostly open all the time at idle (except for quiet) the differences come in with rpm/load/throttle %

Normal will really start to close over 1/2 throttle and higher rpms - sounding quieter at full throttle

Sport will begin to open more at higher rpms and load, but will begin to close a little at full throttle to keep it from becoming too raspy.

Track... nothing to say here.. Fully open exhaust all the time no matter what.

Yep, this right here.

Love, love, love me some track mode!

I guess I get by with it getting in and out of my very large neighborhood by going really slow, and ditto for going by LEOs in small towns. I lug the motor when necessary. Likewise I never had a problem with straight pipe Harleys either.

Maybe I’ve been lucky too.

With Steeda H-pipe, there is a noticeable difference between normal and sport, not so much between sport and track. Mine stays in sport 99% of the time. Love the crackles in sport mode when you let off.

Definitely not what I'm experiencing. What RPMs are you noticing the difference?
