2016 GT350 Technology Package Soon to order
It's because it's a 15 which will probably be stored and never driven.

Still a huge markup, but for 15's people are paying it for the collector value.

Unbelievable. And I thought $25K to 35K ADM was bad!! Hopefully nobody buys it and it just sits in their showroom until they give up and put up a reasonable price.

Lol - those of you who already own their cars have to WISH this dealer gets what he's asking!

:eyebulge: stopped by Kirkland WA Ford and took a look see at the AG 2015 they have on their lot, Asking 125k for F067 (??)

Crazy thing was that this car is being kept outdoors in the weather and the 2016 GT350 sits in their show room. sitting outdoors and dirty as hell the AG still looked bad ass - way better than Magnetic IMO....

The sales guys said someone had an allocation that they backed out of but is asking $25k to give up the allocation. This makes no sense unless he has some deal with the owner? do the math and the the dealer has a 40k mark up on top of the $25k but admitted they would come down to $105 out the door if I was interested. Who in the hell would pay $115k at Mecum when they can buy this at a $10k discount?

The price on this car makes no sense and if there was such a frenzy why is the 2016 sitting for more than 4 months at the asking price of $73-$78k range.

Finally - after seeing the track pack with the Recarros and sitting in them I'm sold ... way better than the Tech pack with the leather seats and big screen tv... I like the Recarro's they make the car look aggressive inside and out and plus the Track wing is solid over that lip of a thing for the Tech.

Completely agree about the necessity of the Track Pack - not having the Recaro seats is a dealbreaker.

Personal preference man. I passed on a handful of beautiful Porsche 911's because they had the "sofa seats" - not for me.

And in other news.... Tesla continues to get slammed by the auto industry with their direct to customer model because the dealership model was put in place to protect the consumer.

Agreed.......Track Pack and all that includes is the way to roll with this beast.
Could never have a Tech Pack with that "roof tumor" and lip spoiler.......yuck!

lol, "all that includes"... fake race seats, two extra coolers and an extra inch of spoiler. bros.

Can we drop all the smugness that comes from your particular set of options? It's really irritating.

The Track Pack includes an aluminum strut tower brace, stiffer front springs, MagneRide Electronic Dampening System, a differential cooler, a transmission cooler, a raised decklid spoiler for additional downforce, and the Integrated Driver Control (IDC) system. It has nothing to do with the seats, Recaros come standard.

If you're going to actually track your car (as the GT350 was designed to do), you're going to need the Track Pack. The transmission cooler and differential cooler alone are worth the price of the package. If you're buying the car as a museum piece of just to cruise around town, obviously the Track Pack is not necessary. It has nothing to do with smugness, it comes down to how the owner will use the car. And in the case of the GT350, I'd certainly like to be able to take it to a track day without having any concerns regarding the cooling of the driveline components.

Come on!!! Anyone who owns a new GT350, especially those who own a 2015 MY, would love to see this car, as well as others, sell for their asking price. You can complain about MSRPs, ADMs, and even these prices, but deep down inside you saying, "please, someone buy this car!!" Win-win.

Couldn't be farther from the truth!

I had my base 2015 GT at the track and it did great. The GT350 with tech pack will be much more capable than the regular Mustang GT. I'd bet 99% of owners won't even be able to drive the car hard enough at the track to need the coolers.

The car has sensors to tell you if it's getting too hot. No need to worry about that either. And if it gets hot, change the fluids after the track day. It's actually a win-win in my book. In my tech pack car, the rear diff and transmission won't be running overly cold all the time during street miles, plus the fluids will get changed more often. You should probably worry about that. There's not much you're going to be able to do about the transmission and rear diff running overly cold all the time. You should probably keep it in the garage unless you are on the track.

Museum piece? I'm sure you're going to spend all day every day at the track, so you'd better have those coolers! I will be getting plenty of use out of my museum piece!

I really need those coolers today running through the snow drifts!

I was talking the differences between the Track and Tech packages as that was the context of the comments.

No, you don't. If you're actually doing competition or it's primary usage will be on the track, then yes, by all means, get the Track package and live happy that your fluids will last longer and if you have the means to be able to drive on a track longer than 20 minutes a session that car temperature won't be a factor. But you're fooling yourself if you believe there is any difference between Tech and Track on track if you're not exceeding that.

It has nothing to do with smugness, it comes down to how the owner will use the car. And in the case of the GT350, I'd certainly like to be able to take it to a track day without having any concerns regarding the cooling of the driveline components.
It has everything to do with the spirit of regarding Tech as an inferior car overall. It's ludicrous. They're the same car. I'll repeat again, they're the same car. Interior and seats aside, most people would not be able to tell at all which one they're driving on track, if not everybody.

I look forward to documenting my temperatures in a few weeks at Chuckwalla. It will be with NASA so sessions will be on the short-side, but I'm extremely confident that I won't be hitting any thermal limits.
