Thanks for the complete write-up and nice work on the deal. If you don't mind saying, what type of rates are being offered on new car financing?Recently shopped and purchased a new 2019 GT350, so a recent account of my experience in Western PA in mid-April. I was a cash buyer but ended up financing due to drop-dead-low rates:
- Several listed on CarGurus in my area between 3 and 5k off MSRP. 2020s between MSRP and 3k off.
- Almost bought an Orange one, PBR, Electronics, Carbon Dash, Leather Seats (gorgeous) in Cincinnati. MSRP 66, List 61, bartered to 59.5. Another dealer 20 minutes away wouldn't go below their 61 list.
- Grey/black stripe in KY listed at 59k flat (6.5k off MSRP).
- Best deal listed was $8k+ off MSRP for a white w/ blue stripe, electronics, leather in Danville, PA. He had it listed at 56.4k, only got him to 56 flat. 200 test drive miles though.
- Ended up buying a velocity blue / black stripe, leather, electronics in Michigan for $57k flat (list). $7500 off MSRP, kept in a showroom and it shows, maybe 50 miles of the mgr. driving it around block to keep tires even. Shipping to Pittsburgh area was $850 in enclosed transport.
- There was a 2020 R on CarGurus under MSRP if I recall correctly, and a 2018 w/ 2k miles, black and loaded, sold on BaT the other week at 58k.
All done w/ COVID-friendly distancing, phone deal, FedEx paperwork, and enclosed transport.
Savings leaves lots of room for PPF, tint, jacking rails, hood struts, oil separator, tires, tires, and tires.
That's a great color combo, post a picture when you can. Finally pulled the trigger on a new '18 at 19.2% below MSRP. Had 60 miles on it. I am very happy it is in my garage. Orange Fury w/black painted roof and black stripe. Been watching these cars for over a year. Thought hard about a '19 as there are quite a few around, but this deal was too much to pass up. Can't wait to get it to my local track.
That's awesome, and a fantastic deal. Id easily give up the few 19 quirks and options on a deal like that. Love the PBR on OrangeFinally pulled the trigger on a new '18 at 19.2% below MSRP. I find credit unions to have absolute best rates. 1.9% 36 month, 2.2 up to 60 month with a credit score mid to upper 7s. 1300 to hold onto 50k for 3 years in these times is the way to go, IMO.Thanks for the complete write-up and nice work on the deal. It's too bad the 0% financing has yet to spill over to the specialty performance vehicles.
There's still (262) new 2019's sitting at dealerships according to cars.comInquired on a 2019 listed as "call for price". Most remaining inventory in my area are listed under MSRP... they were still asking $10k over. While the car has 13 miles and has spent the last 10 months on the showroom floor, I let them know that I was looking at what is basically $10k under. Can't wait to read the reply.
I truly hope you realize the dealers don’t give a shit you bought a different car...First off Ford head office has the power to tell dealers NO ADMs
Roush has told all their Ford dealers NO ADMs on Roush cars and trucks
Ford can also fix the ADM problem and build more cars hence to make more profit for Ford and more more happy customers.
....why doesn't Ford shareholders demand Ford top management to make more high demand cars and more $$$
I did find one way to FIX the ADM issue........NOT to PAY it and then go buy a better faster car.
I tried to buy a GT350 in 2016 but several Dallas Ford dealers quoted me ADMs of $10k to $20k I said no and went out to bought a CPO 2012 Z06
then I went back to these Ford dealers...they did not like that profit NOT going into their pockets
and then I went back to show them the CPO 2017 650hp Z06 I bought in 2018
Guess where I'm going to go to show off my C8Z when I buy it?
Woo! Am I the lowest? That low price champ will go for 56k flat, according to the email I had out. If it's in Danville, it does have 200 test drive miles, but the guy is super easy to work with. Surely there must be a no-electronics package, no leather seats car out there that'll go under 55k. Even lower if it isn't striped? There's still (262) new 2019's sitting at dealerships according to cars.com
This is the current low-price champ - $7600 under MSRP - https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/772379387/overview/
Comes with a Lifetime Powertrain warranty according to their website - that would be nice!
The lowest price I've heard on a 2019 is $57K.
For example, the invoice on this car is $61,369.
Holdback would be $1935.
So break even price for the dealer is $59,434 (not even figuring in the $1000 they paid to be part of the Shelby sales program).
So right now they're losing $2545 on this car - that's why right around $57K seems to be their holding point.
YMMV.
