One of the reasons I have the ability to buy such luxury items is by never paying more than I need to for non-luxury items. Why pay more if you don't have to? The ebay auction was the best deal, free shipping, no tax, and no need to waste time/gas driving to the dealership/parts store. :cheers:. The GT350 takes 10 quarts, $2/quart saved is $20. Would you walk outside and burn a $20 bill?

lol no I wouldn't, and believe me I am a very cheap person, It just makes me chuckle..maybe its because I've been in the parts business too long and see first hand how people won't fix the ball joint falling out, but damn it I need my heated seat fixed! or want $25 brake pads for their 60K F150 Platinum!

If you sign up for their Preferred Customer program, you can get a case of Amsoil for just about the exact same price.

I have used the amsoil in the race car and like it a lot. I paid for the preferred customer as well. Not sure if I will use it on the 350

Shouldn't it be the best oil for the least amount of money?

How much is the engine? $18k for a new crate engine? Sorry but I would rather spend a little more keeping good oil in it vs cheaping out on the oil and have it have oiling issues.

There is a point of just pi$$ing money away but still need to use a good oil and filter in it.

We only have 2 oil choices for this car, so not sure how one can definitively conclude which of the 2 is better

I just did my first oil change with the Amsoil 5w-50 and an OEM filter. I'll send the oil out after my first trackday and see what comes up!

Haha ya, I can imagine. A buddy's dad is so cheap when he was replacing the Roof on his house he went and picked up the old nails and straightened them out for reuse!

I know everyone is trying to save a buck, and I get it. In this specific forum, obviously a certain level of success or financial accomplishment is necessary to buy such an awesome machine....so when topics range from ADM of 5,10,15 20 over sticker, to 5k for a R wheel, I just had to chuckle about the $1 saved. And more personally, as a parts person who is paid on commission, it's hard to make $ to buy my own things when it's a constant "can you do better on the price?" Can you match this price? Etc. I'm sure anyone out there who depends on commission in any industry understands. For those that seemed offended by my post, I apologize.

As for oil, personally I use Mobil 1 5w50 and a ford racing FL820 in my Boss. Oil is like religion or politics, everyone has their own opinions. However, I do used oil analysis every time and have had excellent results with my particular choice.
The reason I use Mobil 1, as it pertains to ford specification is that there was much discussion on the boss forums about it, and many of the guys at the time that lived in Canada could not get the motorcraft brand, and dealers used Mobil one. And as a bonus, NAPA has had this oil on sale for LESS than the discounted prices on MC discussed here:cheers:

only $5 shipping to europe? that sounds pretty good! To save on shipping I'd order a bunch at a time though, that way your shipping cost per unit is lower

Goes to a US (gov) postal box vice my house address. So, it stays in the US postal system to NY, then the US Mil postal system takes it from there.

Pros + Cons.

Pros = 1. Never any sales tax for online orders; 2. Same shipping price as mailing within the States

Con = Some places won't ship to APO or FPO addresses (because they use UPS, FEDEx, etc)

All in all, good deal, and good point about bulk ordering. Will compare cost per/unit.

It is.....the ebay deal is the cheapest recommended oil for the 5.2. Amsoil this and Mobile 1 that, if my motor blows it will be covered since it will have Motorcraft in it! The way I see it, Ford has a vested interest in recommending the best oil for the car since they will be the ones paying for a new motor if it has trouble while under warranty.
