I know the 1/4 mile is standard in car mags and it’s easy to compare cars that way, but the GT350 is not a drag strip car. Same can be said for the 2000 Cobra R. Is what it is, interesting list for sure

These 1/4 mile times are hilarious. 10 completely different types of cars from 400hp to 850hp and they all run about the same time 🤣🤣
Which is why I laughed out loud at the actual article. These guys need to not write about what they don’t know about.

Seriously. Three tenths from #3 to #10, and the gap from #2 to #10 only adds another tenth, but let’s be real, that car isn’t a real Mustang.

They aren't on slicks or even drag radials. Probably barely holding traction through the 1/8th

When Hot Rod tested the 2018 GT 10 speed car, they ran 11.83. It seems like that car should probably be number 2 on the list. Every GT since the 10 speed was released is probably about that fast, I would think.

I guess the takeaway is Motor Trend is advertising the Mach E for Ford.

Considering they’re using data from when they actually tested these cars, I highly doubt it’s advertising for the Mach-E. I think all it’s showing is that their test drivers can’t drive 🤣

If you took 10 A10 GT's to the track (various options) I bet only 2 of them would run 11.9's. Maybe one.

and that's with good driver, zero DA...

a few of them run that fast but not all of them

12.1-12.4 would be more what you see

What it shows is that after about 400hp, traction is the deciding factor... maybe some driver experience too.
Reminds me of the old supra joke...

Yeah, definitely a silly list, and the omissions are just as interesting as what's there. With this tight grouping, a huge chunk of this came down to traction, transmission, and some other random variables.

... #1 is of course solidly in the spot it deserves, though.
