Original ford my touch/sync was around for 6 years.
Actually it was the 2012 to 2015 model years for MyFord Touch. The Mustang only got it in 15. The system previous to MyFord Touch ran in some models like the Mustang from 2010 to 2014 model years.

I'll find out eventually. When I lived in the Bay Area, I was close to 4 great tracks so I had no problem with the Boss and it's lack of equipment. Since I've moved back to AZ and tracks don't compare much here, I want something that's more daily-able. I haven't given up track driving completely but instead of going 15 times a year, I'll probably be reduced down to a handful. I'm sure the 350 will perform fine in standard HPDE conditions even with the Tech pack. That's good enough for me.

The biggest problem is engine oil temps, which yeah, if it's a problem, I'll install the oil cooler. For all the other days when I'm driving around town, the cooled seats will be quite nice here in Arizona.

Can you define "punishment"? Is it keeping rpms above 6000 for 20 minutes, 5000, etc.? Although ambient temps make a difference, I suspect there is some limit here. Probably unlikely to reach it not on a track as stated but curious to know what it is. And probably just a guess unless one of the lucky ones who has one wants to run it out tomorrow and let us know:)
Its not just RPM, its high RPM and actually under load. I cant think of very many roads around here (land of many great driving roads) where you can really keep the engine loaded like you can at the track while still being relatively safe/sane with the speeds

I purchased the Track Pack because I have a membership at a local race track and will be seeing track time 1-2 times a month. I have my f-150 for daily driving. I wanted the one with the most performance without getting the R model, and thats the track pack.

I personally dont need the fancy navigation because I use my phone, I don't mind turning the knob myself to adjust the AC and the manual adjustments on the seats are perfectly fine for me.

The recaros and oil coolers were the best option imo. I might even remove the radio and speakers and rear seats to bridge the gap between the R model lol.

Says the guy from Minneapolis. ;) couldn't resist, sorry :)
No apology needed. You have a good point! :)

The last time I was at the track I saw a few snow flakes in the air.

The Track Pack is definitely the way to go for me. This setup most mirrors the spirit of the original 1965 Shelbys (aside from the R). Also, I LOVE the Recaros, spoiler (I actually like it better than the R spoiler), and lack of the more advanced electronics. :ford:

To me, the Track Pack is the only way to go. If I was worried about comfort and convienence, I'd be purchasing a different car altogether. ;)

...just my 2 cents - there really aren't any bad choices.

My hunch is that all the coolers are more necessary for being on the track than some think they are. I didn't want to call Ford's bluff on this one. I bet the Z06 guys wish they had all this extra cooling capacity right about now.

Agree with need for Track pack for track use. My only concern is if there is a likely or unlikely chance the Tech pack won't have enough cooling for non track use. Chance seems pretty unlikely.

I chose Track Pack for my GT350 mostly for the Recaro seats and MagneRide.

I had an Audi S5 before and it had Drive Select that came with magnetic shocks, and I loved them because they can change in milliseconds in response to the road surface conditions. I could have the car in auto or dynamic mode, cruising along at 50+, hit a railroad crossing and the car would track straight across without going airborne or bottoming out. I have never experienced that in any other cars. In fast corners the car never leaned excessively because the shocks adjust themselves continuously on the fly.

The Magneride in GT350 with Track Pack (standard in GT350R) does similar things. In a recent episode of Jay Leno's Garage in CNBC, the Ford guy that rode along with Jay Leno in a yellow GT350R said the front left wheel tells the rear right wheel what is going on, and the car adjusts accordingly. You can't get that in a GT350 with Tech Pack. If you want both you have to go to a GT350R with E Pack.

HUGE difference between track driving and street driving.

Remember that not only are you talking about RPMs, but also about throttle position. Heat is generated by the creation of HP, and street driving might see high RPMs for some period, but not at sustained full throttle like a track.

I would not worry about the temps for street driving, and if you do track the car occasionally it might be as simple as taking a cool-down lap in the middle of a session.

I personally got the track pack because I wanted the cooling and seats for track days, but I have no concerns about the tech pack on the street.

Tech pack has Magneride too, FYI. I suspect the tuning would be similar between the two versions, so it is possible that tech pack does that also (maybe not to the same extent as the track pack).

My bad!

I still like the Recaro!

Also that mine won't be a DD so all the electronic and entertainment stuff won't do much for me. To me the Track Pack keeps the car more mission focus.

I'm sure ripping on the car on the street will not get the temps up as oil coolers are not included in the majority sports cars out there. I haven't experienced any track days other than the drag strip but i suppose tracking the car with multiple laps without letting out would deem the coolers a plus.
But i went with the Track pack for the recaros as i think i will rarely see multiple laps at a track without a cool down period. I'm still on the fence though as i did want to have sync 3 but not willing to go without the recaros bc i feel the soul of the car deserves to have racing seats bc its a "race car."
I have gone back and forth wether i even need this car bc my 2015 gt pp is plenty capable and usable on the street but i have always wanted a Shelby to have a piece of history. And i don't want to go back to a solid rear axle so i don't want a GT500. This will be my 8th mustang and with its new handling capabilities i'm sure its going to be awesome with either package. The hard part is just choosing one over the other.

IMO I don't know why you would buy this car to stuff it full of tech gear? .
In the poll on this web site most people bought the tech package. I would prefer the tech package because I want Magneride and I doubt I will fit into Ford's Recaro seats comfortably. I could care less about the rest of the technology stuff, but I know from reading other peoples' posts that many people here really want it. Frankly to me the Magneride and tech stuff makes the car better all around.

Most will not DD this car and most will not track thier car. .
Could be true but I'm planning to daily drive mine. Why would I spend so much on a car and then not use it? Just my philosophy I'm not going to buy a car to save it for someone else. I will be taking it to the track a few times a year as well, but 99+% of the time I'll be on the street having fun with it. I will buy a harness and roll bar. If I need a better seat for the track I will swap seats before track days. Simple enough. That way I'll have the best of both worlds: comfort for every day plus a seat that fits me well for track days.

I ordered the track pack hoping to track it a few times a year and maybe a solo or 2. I just don't need all the extra expensive electronics that I will not use in this car my money was better spent on the coolers. All the fancy Navi crap I will keep in my daily driver where it will get used.
Sounds legit to me. Just a different way of doing things than I will choose. I won't spend that much money to buy a GT350 and then a bunch more money on something else equally fun as a daily driver. And I'm not going to leave the fun car in the garage every day.

This forum is pretty overwrought with bad info. Has there been any info at all that magneride differs between track and tech? The only mention in different tuning is between the nonR and R models to cope with the drastic difference in the unsprung weight.

I'd wager there's no difference between tech and track and people are reading way way into things to imagine bigger differences between the cars.

And I love the persistence that no one is going to DD these. /challenge accepted (7 months a year).
