Never said anything to that effect. Magnaride is superior to a street setup on a racetrack, but inferior to a dedicated track setup on a racetrack. Magnaride is more versatile than either a street setup or track setup.Looks like you are of the opinion that magnaride will not be beneficial on a road course. I thought magnaride was all about getting better handling.
I don't think they are needed per se, but probably helpful. People track regular GT's that don't have any coolers at all. You could always add what you need later.Do you think the track pack coolers are really needed for HPDE events where you are only on track 20 minutes at a time?
I'm not an expert on the subject but I agree with this based on owner feedback and also what manufacturers are doing. Magnaride is more common on grand touring models whereas track beasts don't seem to have them.I'm probably not as knowledgeable as Grimace is when it comes to magnaride technology, but I think the main appeal is being able to have the option to have a tame street ride on the day to day basis and then turn it up a notch when you want to go to the track. I'm not sure but maybe Magnaride is marginally better in track use but it is also expensive for someone who only really cares for track performance. I am sure Grimace will elaborate...
If I were in the market for a GT350 I would also like to opt out of Magneride for the cost and have a trackpack lite option with the coolers. Same goes for the R package.
Too ambiguous a statement to have any merit. What is a regular coilover? I think a double adjustable setup from KW, Moton, or MCS would prove superior to Magnaride on a racetrack given the amount of end-user adjustability. Definitely setups from Penske or other high-end setups would eat Magnaride alive on a racetrack. On the street however Magnaride would be the obvious choice.Magnaride will do wonders on the race track if set properly. Much better than regular coilovers.....
This. If Magnaride was the superior track setup the Z28 would not be running the Multimatic DSSV dampers.I think I disagree with that. See Camaro Z/28.
