For me it’s 0 for disabled/cold start, 1 for idle, 2 for cruise, 3 for wot top end, and 4 for wot midrange.

Where'd you get the idea?
Basically same.
Where do you think mike, from the Roush tune, you, and white 5.0 lmao. I was running 0-4 but I found it to have a bit better drivability for me when adding 2 others.

The Supercharged tune I have from Lund uses 3, 1 for idle 1 for cruise 1 WOT

Thats very simplified. The annoyance I found with less MPs are too much blending through the RPMs through the MPs when I was trying to dial in spark. So, I basically made it 3 set points across the board with no blending.

Hmm I redid it commanding mp 12 and it runs totally fine now and idles pretty good, the transition just needs some work.

If I wanted it to go to a commanded like -10 intake, 35 exhaust. How would I achieve that without modifying mp? MP 13 is disabled right, so couldn't I adjust it to -10, 35 so the car will try to use those cam angles and then it will just blend other mapped points?

Does it?

He showed no logs. And I didnt bother looking for a video.
The -10, 35 had it chopping harder then most big cammed ls, especially when the rpm started to bounce. So far the way you guys wanted to me to try is working. I don't know what I did differently vs last time I tried the exact same thing...

If -20/20 was available that’d give about the same overlap. Or, you can blend two mapped points to get the cam timing values you want, assuming two exist that will give you what you want when blended.

Is there a difference between having the exhaust more advanced or intake more retarded if the total overlap is the same?

My experience with ghost cam is that overlap is overlap, but I’m sure someone who knows more than me will correct me in some way. The thing that might change with different cam positions given the same overlap is the overall “quality” of the chop sound. Personally, I wouldn’t be concerned with the cam positions as long as there is enough overlap to get the sound I want.

I think I got it pretty good. I set MP 13 to -10,35 and I’m keeping it disabled. So unless anything directly sets their vct to MP 13 it shouldn’t affect anything.

I want to make the spark less. Do I just lower the Spark borderline tables for idle at the mapped points it’s using?

Yes.

Overlap intake side vs exhaust side.
What he didn't understand is the Idle auto off. Thats supposed to keep people from dying if you fall asleep in a garage with the engine running.

Yes he didn't understand a lot of stuff, but it should help get an idea what is involved in making a ghost cam tune.
Yup what he was talking about I knew Ive seen under system> general before and not engine> idle.

HPT has a very logical layout to these kinds of things. Something PCMtec is lacking very much.

In a log check what your spark source is while its lopping. That tells you what to modify the spark with.

Just make sure you give it enough time to settle.

Modifying things blindly is not good.
