SYNC 4 upgrade on a 21 401A

Just upgraded my phone and I'm a little annoyed that I have to have it plugged in to do Android Auto...looked online and it seems that SYNC 4 adds wireless. Anyone upgrade from SYNC 3 to SYNC 4?

I don't know about sync4 (but I don't think it's possible) but you could look into aawireless (https://www.aawireless.io/). It can play a bit funny with certain phones but I have one in the UK and it works ok (apart from a bug in my sh1tty Xiaomi phone which causes intermittent disconnections )

Adding wireless is more than just a software change. Its also a hardware change.

Don't all vehicles with Sync 4 have the Fully Networked Vehicle architecture? I don't think it will ever be possible to put Sync 4 in a Sync 3 vehicle. In my Bronco it integrates with the gateway and online services.

Get a wireless android auto adapter.

According to that post, nothing further came of it. It's been almost a year since they said "we're still working on it."

Yes the S650 has FNV therefore it has Sync 4.
