Nothing else needed for MFT to Sync3 except the small harness you needed.

Love the work you are doing on these upgrades!:first:

Love the work you are doing on these upgrades!O.k. maybe I am not on enough. Where so I can help? The harness you wanted is stalled in a group buy.
Well that certainly will make my choice easier to do the sync 3 swap. You mentioned a group buy?Things will get easier pretty soon for this swap, I received the final version of the APIM connector I improved. So everything for plug n play is ready to assemble

If this was already answered, my apologies...I have a premium 8" MFT car, and I would like to go to Sync III - I already have the SAT antenna on the roof - everything I can find regarding the SYNCIII swap mentions changing out the SAT antenna - is that required? I'd rather keep my nice factory paint to match SAT antenna already mounted on the roof - my current antenna will plug into the new SYNCIII hardware, won't it?
Send me a PM, I'll fill you in.O.k. maybe I am not on enough. Where so I can help?
The group buy is for a different harness.Well that certainly will make my choice easier to do the sync 3 swap. You mentioned a group buy?
MFT to Sync 3 doesn't require a change to the Sirius antenna. Your SAT antenna on the roof will remain in use, however, if you are thinking of the GPS antenna... under the center of your dash is a GPS module that will need to be removed and replaced with a GPS antenna for the car's telematics system. NAV or NON-NAV the new GPS antenna is required. If this was already answered, my apologies...I have a premium 8" MFT car everything I can find regarding the SYNCIII swap mentions changing out the SAT antenna - is that required? No, the SAT antenna for Sync 3 is the same as MFT. The connector is the same, a curry colored Fakra. The antenna for the GPS (aka GPSM) is under the center of the dash (where the center channel speaker is located) and that must be replaced with a GPS antenna that has a blue Fakra connector. You will need a new SAT antenna because it changes from MFT to SYNC 3, See OP's first post. it uses a different connector and no longer used GPSM technology.
Any plans to sell the base to Sync 3 harnesses, any idea on cost?Send me a PM, I'll fill you in.
The group buy is for a different harness.
PM for details.Any plans to sell the base to Sync 3 harnesses, any idea on cost?
It doesn't, you will still have single zone control. Dual zone control is a function of the multiple modules to control the temp doors in a premium car. Base cars don't physically have the same air box or modules.Ok so I have another probably stupid question, going from base to sync 3 gives you the bezel with dual zone climate controls..... how does that work with a base car?
Ouch, I've seen a few tempered glass screen protector on ebay for the 8" screen, I plan on getting one once I find a screen and APIM that not crazy over priced. And my Sync 3 APIM came today complete with fingernail gouges.:(
The owner of the Salvage yard said that if I had any issue he will take it back.
On a side note, Has anyone thought of putting a screen protector on they touch screen.
